Himeko sighed as she entered the Cafe. She hated mornings. Himeko was the kind of girl who enjoyed sleeping in whenever she could. If she didn't have tennis practice later, she would never had woken up in the first place. Well it was nothing that a small latte could fix.
Himeko slid into her favorite booth and waited for the waitress to take her order. As she was waiting, she thought about the fact her father refused to take her calls. Apparently some crisis had taken place at the palace earlier this morning. To be honest, Himeko couldn't care less about the incident. She was used to her parents ignoring her anyway, they always seemed to make it up to her. Why can't the King and Queen take care of their own problems. Otou-sama is always cleaning up their messes. It's pathetic. At least, she finally had a reason for him to buy me that new dress she wanted.
Just then the waitress arrived. "May I have a latte please." Himeko said, giving the women her order. As the waitress walked away, Himeko hoped that the rest of her day would become more interesting.

Kouin's day was not quite going as planned. Although the bubblegum haired girl had intended to go to the shopping mall today, it looked like fate had other things in mind. The strap on her pink bunny messenger bag had hooked itself on the fence of a restaurant, and she hadn't notice until it was too late. The fragile strap had torn apart, leaving her with one very broken bag.
"Ahhh, no!" Kouin let out a cry, pouting a little as she scrambled to pick up the bag, shoving things that had fallen out of it back in. "Mmmm. I'm not going to be able to go with it all messed up like this." She observed, scooping the bag up and holding it close to her chest. Looking around, she noticed that she wasn't that far from Cafe Amigo. Maybe she could stop in there while she looked for a way to fix her bag.
"Mama's gonna be mad at me." Kouin frowned, crossing the street and entering the cafe. "And I was looking forward to buying that new plushie today..." She said mournfully- it looked like the bug-eyed monkey plush was going to have to wait awhile to find a new home.
Kouin found herself a booth, not far from Himeko's, and waited for a waitress to come. She ordered herself a hot chocolate, before asking the waitress if they had any tape in the back, explaining her situation to her. The waitress seemed to understand and told her that they had some in the back, and she would bring it out to her with her hot chocolate.
"Lucky~! Thank you, onee-chan~!" Kouin grinned, seeming much happier now.

As Himeko waited for her latte, she found herself people watching. She didn't know what had motivated her to do this, but it would at least keep her busy until her drink arrived. However a quick look around the cafe, resulted in nothing that peeked her interest. Most people in the shop right now were twice her age. There would be no juicy gossip at all.
Just then a pink haired girl entered the cafe. Himeko was sure she saw the girl around school from time to time, however she couldn't recall her name. As Himeko watched the girl sit near her, she wondered if maybe she should go over there. After all, it beat sitting all by herself.
Himeko decided to walk over to Kouin's table, before the waitress returned with her latte. "Excuse me, but I believe we attend the same school. Do you mind if I sit with you?" Himeko greeted the girl, as she patiently awaited her reply.

Quietly, the silver haired princess poked her head in through the doors of the cafe, her red eyes scanning the area from behind her large pink rimmed sunglasses. Hatsuko probably wasn't doing a very good job at being inconspicuous, but she assumed that everyone would pass her off as another student. Or at least that was what she was going to say if anyone decided to ask her. She glanced over her shoulder briefly to make sure no one was on her tail. Once she had caught site of her blond haired friend, Hatsuko made up some excuse to get away from her person escort. 'So far so good' Hatsuko thought with the slightest smile upon her lips.
Adjusting the glasses upon her face, Hatsuko stepped all the way into the building. From where she was, she could see Himeko chatting with another girl with hair the color of strawberry ice-cream. She laughed at the silly thought before she placed one hand on the side of her mouth, calling out. Hime-Chan! Over Here! Hatsuko waved one of her hands vigorously in greeting.

"Eh?" Kouin glanced up upon hearing someone speak to her, taking a moment to look at who it was before smiling. "Ahhh, you're that rich ojou-chan who goes to my school!" She observed, putting on a big grin. It didn't seem like she had noticed her when she had come in, but she did recognize her now. After all, she was a bit hard to miss at school.
"Are you looking for a seat?" Kouin asked, tilting her head. "You can sit with me if you like!" Kouin told her, patting the section of table in front of the chair that was across from her. Uwaaa~ That famous ojou-chan was talking to her! She would have to tell Kyoutei all about it later.

Himeko couldn't help but giggle slightly at pink hair girl's reaction. It had been awhile since someone around her age had called her by the title. She paused a moment, deciding if she give the girl a chance. Deciding that her new acquaintance seemed nice enough. The blond decided to give her a slight smile in return, before sliding into the seat the girl had offered her.
"Thank you," Himeko said, "Actually I was sitting alone, and I thought it would be better if we sat together." As Himeko finished settling in, she noticed her waitress begin to walk over to her previous table with her latte. She quickly motioned the older women to come over to her new seating arrangement instead.
Just then Himeko heard a familiar voice calling her name. She could recognize that voice anywhere. It belonged to the one and only, Hatsuko. Himeko quickly stood up from her chair waving back.
"Hatsu-chan! Please come join us." She replied cheerfully, before turning to face the other girl. "I hope you don't mind."

The smile upon Hatsuko's face grew wider as her friend greeted her, and motioned for her to join them. The princess tossed one more glance over her shoulder before she pulled the collar of her powder blue polo shirt closer to her face and continued to creep over to the table at which Himeko sat.
She took a seat right next to Himeko, and removed the large pink glasses from her face. Hatsuko flashed a small smile at her childhood friend before turning her attention to the girl that sat across from them. "I'm Hatsuko." She said as sheoffered out her slender hand for Kouin to shake. "Nice to meet you!
With her eyebrows furrowed, she turned her red gaze down to the warm beverage situated in front of Himeko. "Hime-Chan...did you come all this way for a cup of warm milk?" She asked with a tilt of her head.

Uwaaa~ She was sitting with her! That famous ojou-chan was really sitting with her! Kouin would definitely have to tell Kyoutei all about this later. Grinning to herself, she almost didn't hear when Himeko asked if one of her friends could join them. The bubblegum haired girl nodded, however. "Mm! That's fine with me! The more the merrier, right?"
She blinked as she looked at the girl who had joined them, frowning a little bit. She looked a bit familiar, but Kouin was sure she had never met her before. Did she also go to her school? If she was friends with Himeko, then she must have been wealthy too. After all, Himeko pretty much seemed to hang out in that crowd. She decided to put aside those thoughts for now. It probably wasn't anything to worry about.
"Ah, I'm Kouin! Chuushin Kouin." She introduced herself, taking Hatsuko's hand and giving it a small shake. "It's nice to meet you!"
Kouin's hot chocolate came then, which the young accepted gratefully. At the same time, the waitress produced a roll of shipping tape for the girl, who took it as well. "Ah, thank you very much! I'll give it back once I'm done fixing my bag!"

"Hatsu-chan, you know I can't survive without my morning latte." Himeko exclaimed, defending her drink of choice. "Besides, you don't appreciate my mature taste. You should really try one sometime."
Just then Himeko noticed, that her best friend was alone. "Hey Hatsu-chan," Himeko began, pausing to take a sip of her drink. "Where are those other two 'friends' of yours." She hope Hatsuko would get the hint about her two bodyguards, without Kouin becoming too suspicious. Who knows how the pink girl would act if she knew she was sitting with the princess.
"I haven't properly introduced myself, Chuushin-san. I'm Hisakino Himeko. It's a pleasure to meet you." Himeko added. Before noticing Kouin's ripped bag. Normally, when her bags ripped she got a new one. She couldn't understand why the girl was taping it together instead. "What happened?" She couldn't help but ask.

Despite her efforts, Hatsuko couldn't suppress the giggle that left her lips. Mature? She asked titling her head once more. "I think your tastes are just as mature as mine Hime-Chan" She said in her simple matter-of-fact tone. However even her own comment made her smile. Although Hatsuko wasn't exactly immature, it was probably a fact that Himeko was the winner when it came to being mature.
Tilting her head to the side, the crease upon the princess' fore head grew deeper as her eyebrows furrowed even more. She paused, twirling a stray lock of silver hair on her finger as she thought about Himeko's question. Friends?. Hatsuko didn't have to think for long however, it wasn't very hard to forget about the two bodyguards that shadowed her every move. Oh!Uhm. Briefly, she glanced at Kouin before finally deciding to answer the question. "They should be waiting for me at the bathroom" And by waiting, she meant looking feverishly.
Bag? Hatsuko asked, rising up in her seat to get a better look at the item in question. Once her red eyes fell upon it, she couldn't help but to smile in utter delight. It was a messenger bag, a pink one, with the cutest rabbit on it. "That is a really cute bag! Too bad the strap is all broken.

Kouin didn't seem to understand what Himeko meant by Hatsuko's 'friends', and it was probably all to the better. If she knew she was sitting with the Princess, there was no doubt that she would freak out and draw attention to the trio of girls. Being in the middle of a scene was probably not something Hatsuko wanted to happen.
"Ah, my bag?" Kouin asked, glancing down at as Himeko asked about it. "It hooked onto a fence outside and the strap tore! It's a cute bag, but I guess it's not too sturdy in the end." The bubblegum haired girl laughed, as she tore of some tape, using it to tape the two ends of the broken strap together. Frankly, she seemed like she was using too much tape to fix it, but at least she knew it was going to hold!
"I can probably ask okaa-san to fix it when I get home!" She added cheerfully. When she heard Hatsuko's compliment, her smile grew wider. "Oh, thank you! It's kind of expensive though, I had to save all month to buy it! That's why it's important to fix it."

After hearing Hatsuko comment on her own tastes, Himeko had to agree with her. She was the princess after all. Though she would have preferred if her friend hadn't laughed at her. "Touche, Hatsu-chan." She simply responded, before she took another sip of her drink.
"So you ditched them at the bathroom again." Himeko couldn't help but let out a small giggle, imagining the look on the two guards faces when they realized their charge was missing. Thought it was only a matter of time before those two found her again. "I have say, I'm really impressed. Those two can be such a killjoy." Not to mention the fact, that they both didn't seem to like her that much. Well at least Himeko thought they didn't like her.
"That's too bad." Himeko admitted once she heard Kouin explain how her bag had gotten ruined. Though she was a little confused to why the girl would ask her mother to fix it. Well, that was until she heard Kouin mention that the bag had taken her awhile to buy.
Well that finally explains why I didn't know her. Himeko couldn't help but think. She was actually sitting with someone from a much lower income than her own family. What would the rest of her friends think if they found out. However, it was quite obvious that Hatsuko liked Kouin. Himeko wasn't sure of what to do next.
Just then a marvelous idea popped in her head. This would no doubt impress both Kouin and Hatsuko. "Well, Chuushin-san, I happen to have a little extra money lying around. I'll buy you a new bag, so you don't have to ask your mother to fix it."

Hatsuko's head bounced up in down in agreement. It was true. Horae and Iris could be a bit overprotective at times, but the princess didn't mind too much. It was better to have two people that worried over you instead of two that didn't care at all. At least that's how Hatsuko saw the whole thing. "They mean well Hime-chan" She said with her usual confident smile. "Plus," She added in a hushed voice, "I'm getting better at loosing them!! They won't be able to ruin the fun as often"
An inquisitive look began to grow in Hatsuko's red hued eyes as she examined the blond sitting next to her. The princess couldn't help but wonder about Himeko's intentions. It certainly wasn't like her to offer up money to someone...but who knows? She could have had a small change of heart. "Hime-Chan that's so nice! Chuushin-san won't have to walk around with a mended bag now." She said shifting her gaze to the tapped up bag. Honestly, Hatsuko didn't care if the bag was broken- it was still cute none the less. Hmmm, maybe it was time to take advantage of the situation.
"Since your in such a good mood, Hime-chan, you should buy me one too! So I don't have to ask my mother!.

Almost as quickly as Himeko had offered, Kouin was rejecting it, shaking her head. "Ah, thank you very much for the offer, but no thank you. Okaa-san has always told me that if I want something, I have to get it myself!" The bubblegum haired girl said, rejecting Himeko's rather generous offer. "Besides, with a little mending, it will be as good as new! I can't possibly think to waste your money when it isn't needed, Hisakino-chan~"
"So I will have to politely decline your offer." Kouin told her with a smile, before taking a sip of her hot chocolate. "I really do thank you though!"

Himeko couldn't help but smirk, when she heard Hatsuko's answer. Finally her friend was realizing how troublesome those two guards really were. They never allowed her to do anything. "That's good!" She replied in a hushed tone of her own. "Now if we could only keep them from finding you again."
When Hatsuko asked for a bag of her own, Himeko let go an inner sigh of relief. It looked like her ruse had worked. Hatsuko was such an intuitive girl. If she hadn't done something she would realize Himeko didn't like Kouin. Besides the pink haired girl and princess were getting along too well for her own liking. "Of course Hatsu-chan, I'll buy you whatever you want." Himeko told her cheerfully.
However, Kouin was being outright ungrateful. How could she reject an offer from her. No one rejected an offer from her. Himeko had gone out of her way to be nice to the girl, and this is how she pays her. "It's no problem," Himeko finally answered, a little bit forced.
