Shizuku was not in a good mood.
Of course, it was impossible to tell, but the raven-haired girl wasn't very happy. And it was all Yuki's fault. Stupid Yuki, stupid stupid stupid-- she thought as she kept playing her shooting game, taking out enemies left and right. She normally played fighting games, but today she really just wanted to vent.
Stupid jerk, I saw her first--
More enemies went down.
Why couldn't Kyou-chan see--
Shizuku growled as she had to take out a boss, shooting rapidly and muttering various obscenities under her breath.
--and why couldn't I just tell her?
Her character died, losing health when Shizuku hadn't been paying attention. The girl glared at the continue screen, letting out a "Hmph!" before stalking over to something else to play. That game was boring anyways...

Himeko had hit an all time low. For the frist time since she could remember the blond was bored. She stared at her shiny bedazzled phone, while she looked for a number she hadn't dialed yet. Finding that she had actually run out of numbers to dial in her phone. She threw her phone into her bag.
"Why doesn't anyone answer!" Himeko shouted, causing several people around her to give her looks of alarm. Not that she noticed. Looking around for something to do she noticed. The Game Center Crown sign. I don't think I've been in there in awhile. Finding herself quite curious, the girl decided to go inside.

7500 RPM, Shift.
Listen for the let-off valve. Check RPMs. 2500. Feel engine shake.
Feel engine shake??
"What the?" Sakura was pulled out of her near trance by an odd knocking with the engine of her bike as she sped down the street, weaving in and out of traffic. Her red and black hair billowing behind her from under her custom painted helmet.
"Better ease up off the speed for now." Sakura mumbled, dropping from the 177 KPH to a mere 135 KPH.
"There, that should be fine. Still need to work on that turbo before visiting the chasm. I guess I'll hit the shop later." Sakura returned her focus to driving and weaved between vehicles who looked to be standing still (but actually were doing the speed limit).
Things lately had been pretty dull for Sakura, with her bike being down for a bit due to "excessive stress" on the engine and other issues. However now with the bike free, all she needed to do was finish the tuning and she could be back on the track. Borrowing vehicles sucked too much to do so in a race. It was bad enough borrowing a moped to make it to work. She would never live that down.
"Where to though? Can't be at the shop all the time." Sakura looked around and noticed she was near the arcade. She also noticed that the cop she just passed didn't look to happy.
"Uh oh. Looks like I'm off to the arcade." Sakura revved the throttle as the police car pulled out into traffic with lights on. Sakura couldn't supress her grin. With traffic as bad as it was, and her on a bike, he would never catch up to her. Cutting down a back alley, Sakura took a short cut that empied her out a block from Crown Arcade.
"Now for a good spot to park." Sakura glanced and noticed a large sign advertising a new game was out on the sidewalk, large enough to sit her bike behind. Skidding to a halt (and making a lot of noise doing so), Sakura parked the bike behind the sign and killed the engine. A quick look to see if the police were nearby proved she was again in the clear.
"I'm sure they hate me on the police band." She said to herself, grinning as she unclipped her helmet and connected it to the bikes strap lock. Her red leather armour jacket stayed on, as it just looked too cool to her.
Inside the arcade, Sakura waved to a few regulars she recognised and headed over to the massive racing machine that occupied nearly a whole wall (albeit a smaller wall), and proceeded to accept challenges and drop many coins into the machine.

God, why did everything have to be so lame looking? None of the arcade games were interesting, she was tired of the shooting games, she wasn't in the mood for the racing games--not yet, anyways--and there wasn't--
Well, there were the crane games.
Letting out an irritated sigh, the girl headed over to said gaes just as Himeko had made her way in--and crashed into Himeko as a result, the black haired girl not really paying attention. "Oof!" she gasped out, stumbling back and shaking her head. Stupid NPC, walking right in my-- the raven haired girl thought--then blinked, confused. This girl felt horribly...familiar...
"Uh. Sorry 'bout that." Shizuku added after a moment, offering her hand out if Himeko needed it. And then without thinking too hard about it: "Have we...met before...?"

Once Himeko had entered the arcade she realized she didn't recognize anyone inside. This was definitely not one of my greatest ideas. She found herself thinking. The blond was about to exit the aracade when a black haired girl crashed into her. Correction, this was the worse idea ever.
Himeko couldn't help but give Shizuku a glare, as the girl hastly gave out an apology. She honestly wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. That was until she noticed that Shizuku had said if they had met before. She quickly glanced at the girl and feel a small spark of familiarity. Himeko was really starting to feel a little weirded out. She quickly grabbed Shizuku's hand. Allowing the girl to pick her up, before answering Shizuku's question, "I don't believe so."

Post by Reiniku Daichi on Jul 8, 2009 19:37:32 GMT -5
Daichi was oddly energetic today.
Well, when wasn't he? But there was an odd bounce in his step as he walked home from a hardy day at the job, a grin upon his lips and a cheerful tune slipping from his lips. The entire time he was at work he couldn't stop thinking about it - the new King Battle Royal fighting game was out today! He could hardly contain his boyish excitement throughout the course of his classes, nearly busting out of his skin with youthful exuberance, filled to the very brim with excitement.
For once, Daichi couldn't wait for class to be over!
Finally, the game center's doors slid open and Daichi set his eyes upon the shiny new game system and his green eyes lit up like a little boy on Christmas.
Not even paying attention to where he was going, Daichi made a b-line towards the machine and...promptly ran into a huge crowd. Blinking, he noticed that the crowd wasn't per-say around his game, but around a large racing game that was two consoles down. Everyone was watching the girl beat the pants off of everyone she faced.
Daichi, being fairly tall for a Japanese man, managed to peer over it and gave a whistle.
"Not bad..." He commented towards the girl with red and black streaked hair at the console. Daichi would join in, but the guy couldn't drive to save his life in reality - why would he be good at a racing game?

Sakura was grinning like a maniac as she defeated opponent after opponent. She had spent a long time getting good at these games, and with all the racing at the chasm, racing games seemed to come naturally to her. Of course, she never was degrading to her opponents though (she didn't want people to stop playing against her) and even offered a few lessons to people who asked occasionally.
Powersliding across the finish of a tricky downhill drift course, Sakura lifted her arms in the air to stretch and pop her back. A comment from a guy nearby in the crowd caught her ear and she turned to face him.
"Thanks. You want to give it a go?" She asked, eyeing the guy in front of her. He was a bit tall, but it didn't sway Sakura. She was used to being around people taller than her. He did have an air of confidence around him, however slight though.
'I'll bet he can fight well. Only fighters and martial artists give off that vibe.' She thought, a grin on her face. She would have to consider sparring against him sometime if she was right.
"Fair warning, I've played this game a few times." She said, grinning as she motioned to the empty seat next to her. She figured she had about a couple more games then she would give the credit over to one of the small children who had been watching mouth agape.

Daichi gave a whistle as he watched the girl with the streaked hair defeat another opponent, and so easily. It impressed him when someone could drive simulations that good...maybe this girl was a racecar driver or something?
However, when he was addressed, he arched his eyebrows, and then gained a very stupid grin on his face. Daichi raised his hands before him and laughed nervously.
"Ahaha!" He chuckled, moving one of his hands to the back of his head, scratching it, "I can't even drive a normal car without killing myself or someone else! I don't think I stand a chance against someone as awesome as you are!"
However, that King Battle Royal game caught his attention. Daichi drifted off towards it, then looked back at the girl. He pointed at the machine, "I might have a better chance against you with that one! But who knows! You might be some super button-mashing queen, eh?" Regardless, Daichi was going to play that game, even if no one but the AI would be joining him.
Still, the girl had him curious...what could she do with a fighting game instead of a racing one?

Hmm, she seems like the haughty type. Shizuku thought, offering Himeko a sheepish grin. "Ahhh, is that so~?" she asked, speaking much more cheerfully than she actually felt. "Sorry, sorry, you just gave me this weird sense of deja-vu. Maybe we're in the same class or something~" she blinked, realizing she was still holding Himeko's hand and abruptly let go, not wanting to creep the blonde out. Besides, Himeko wasn't her type anyways. No, her type was--
...mrr. she thought, thinking of various unpleasant things.
Noticing that Himeko didn't really look like she wanted to be there, the raven-haired girl spoke up, still keeping her voice cheery. "Hmmm, what brings you to a place like this anyways? You don't really look like a gamer in the least." she glanced at Himeko's cellphone, snickering. "Especially with something as tacky as that."

Sakura grinned as he mentioned her "awesome" driving. While she knew she was good, it always was good to hear someone else acknowledge it as well. She glanced over to the machine that he pointed at and her smile faded a bit. A fighting game? Damn. Not one to ever back down from a challenge, Sakura shook her head and got out of the racing game, motioning for one of the younger kids to take her place.
"Hah, button-mashing is about the only part correct. I'll give it a shot though." She said, walking over to him to follow him to the machine.
"Let me guess, you're a master of fighting games? You definitely look like you can hold your own in an actual fight." She commented as she joined him, prepared for the ass kicking she expected to receive at the game.

Himeko gave an ackward smile back to Shizuku. She really wasn't sure of what to think of the black haired girl at this point. "It's okay, people tend to recognize me all of the time. Though it probably do to my father." She told the girl, while thinking of all the stupid charity events the man forced her to go to recently. That's probably why she thinks she knows me. Himeko paused for a second before adding, "So your a student at Crystal Tokyo High. What grade are you in?"
Himeko was starting to relax when the girl started ask to insult her phone. "For your information this just happens to be a the latest iphone, it isn't even available to the general public yet! Besides black is so boring, so I had apple bedazzle it. It's one-of-a-kind."
Himeko gave the girl another glare before adding, "I'll admit that I never step a foot in here before, but I was curious to see why people seem to like this place so much! I never though the people here would be so rude!"

"Well, you see, this game is brand-new!" Daichi said enthusiastically, the boyish joy clearly painted all across his face and in the tone of his voice, "So even I don't know the controls all that well! So maybe you have a chance?"
Still, she was willing to give it a try, and it excited him. Getting to play a new game with a new friend was always his idea of fun...granted that said girl would end up being his friend. Grinning from ear to ear, Daichi plopped down at the game and inserted the proper coinage, and gestured for the black-and-read haired girl to sit down.
"So anyway...what's your name? Mine's Reiniku Daichi, always a pleasure to meet new people!"

Sakura followed Daichi over to the machine and listened as he mentioned it was new. That explained why it looked so immaculate. She perked at hearing he hadn't learned the controls, but also didn't expect to do well. Controls were part of the problem. Surprisingly, Sakura couldn't react fast enough. She could react like lightning at racing games, and was even good at dancing games, but they had simple controls. All the quarter circles, charges, and massive strings fighting games had killed her.
"Well, we shall see. I'm Midori Sakura. Pleasure to me you as well." She answered, learning his name. As she sat down, she got a weird feeling of deja'vu. Pressing start, she searched around the character list.
"Come on, where is the ninja-esque female fighter. All these games have one....ah here she is." Sakura said, grinning. She might suck at these games, but she wasn't ignorant of them.

Alright!
Daichi was grinning from ear to ear as Sakura sat down beside him. Not only was he meeting someone new, but he got to play the brand new King Battle Royal game to boot! He was psyched, his fingertips were itching, hovering over the keys as she got assituated.
"Nice to meet you Sakura-chan!" He said, almost to quickly, as if he spoke without any punctuation what so ever. He was just too excited right now, and he really hoped that he remembered the old controls well. "Maybe after this, we can race each other, okay?"
Sakura chose the swift character known as Night Fox, someone that was dangerous in the right hands. It made Daichi wonder if Sakura could play her well, but the character's speed usually made up for any lack of knowledge of the game series.
Daichi chose his favorite character, the stero-typical martial artist out for nonspecific revenge or something; the character known only as "Red."
With the characters selected, the game was ready to begin. Daichi leaned forward, towards his screen, and waited for the countdown to end and the word "Fight!" to appear. He decided to let Sakura move first, given her inexperience with fighting games.

Sakura got a mischieveious smirk as he mentioned racing her, and was about to comment on it when the game started.
'Crap, how does this work. Let's see....that moves. There is punch, kick, teleport?!' Sakura lost track of her character as some flashy lights moved on the screen and her character jumped all over the place, she having inadvertently used a special move. Once the electric light show ended, Sakura puffed up as though she had intended to do so. Perhaps she could intimidate her way to a victory....
