Ah, there it was! The lightning tornado move!
Daichi couldn't help the goofy grin when he saw Sakura inadvertently execute one of Night Fox's most difficult moves. Not only was it incredibly difficult to track the character, but each burst released charges of electricity around the field. Some of them managed to hit Red, his character, stunning him and dealing a good deal of damage.
Once the light show died down, Daichi was able to move about the screen again without worrying about getting struck by the move. The controls of this version where a bit different then the previous game, so he started to madly bash the buttons in hopes of executing one of Red's most dangerous combos; the crimson fist shockwave!
Daichi didn't seem to be as lucky as Sakura, as his character performed multiple punches and kicks towards her character, and he did manage to get a few of Red's basic combos executed, but not the strongest one...yet.

Sakura was quickly put on the defensive from Daichi's assault (thinking he was using all the power of the character). Unfortunately every time she blocked high, an attack would hit low and vise versa. Finally, Sakura managed to block something, and quickly pressed pretty much every button on her side of the pad hoping for something amazing to happen.
Well, at least a punch happened....
Sakura scowled at the screen. All that mashing and no combo at all?! How did she do that lightning thing?
'Hmm, think! What did you do?!' Sakura though, trying to mimic what she did before with no success.

Daichi was quickly re-learning the controls and figuring out what button performed what move and combo. The recollection of Red's moves was coming back to him one bit at a time, including what buttons needed to be mashed to execute the Crimson Fist Shockwave.
He leaped backwards, away from Sakura's character and rapdily began to hit buttons. Red leaped into the air and slammed one of his fists down into the ground, releasing a massive wave of ground-based, red energy towards Night Fox.
Daichi waited to see what would come of it, wondering if Sakura could move her ninja girl up and out of the way of the move in time.

Slamming her phone into her bag, Himeko stormed over towards the exit. She had had enough of this place. Why had she even thought of entering it in the first place. As Himeko reached the exit, she paused for a second to see a large crowd forming around a fighting game of some sorts. Not that she was really interested in that sort of thing. Himeko quickly left the aracade before anything else bad happened to her.

Sakura was beaten back by Daichi's attacks, but she knew he was just setting her up.
'Ok, what is he doing? What ever it is, I better be ready to duck below it.' Sakura concentrated on ducking at the right time, so when the large blast of energy came at her she ducked instantly.
Sadly, the attack traveled along the ground.
Sakura watched as her character was knocked back and up into the air, her health bar all but vanishing.
"Hmm....ok. How bout THIS!" Sakura shouted as she jumped back into the battle and landed directly in front of Daichi's character and she pushed what she believed was what she used earlier.
She was wrong, her character started some obscenely long taunt, leaving her open to a punch which would end the round.
'Shit.'

It was such a nice day out. Autumn was one of her favorite seasons. It wasn't too hot and there was just a nip of winter in the air. Sayuri smiled as she strolled down the streets, her bag over one shoulder, and her other hand in her pocket. She'd just come from dance class and was still high off the energy that came from just breaking loose and having fun. As she passed the Game Center Crown, she looked inside at all the different games.
Normally, Sayuri wasn't one for arcades, having no skills at all with them, but there was one that she had a particular weakness for. Dance Dance Revolution was one of the games that Sayuri could play because all it required was dancing. She smiled and checked her watch. I still have some free time before I need to get back to the dorm. I have some pocket change too and I haven't played this game in ages. Maybe just one or two rounds wouldn't hurt.
So in she went.
As she passed by the new fight game and the people that had gathered around, she made her way to the DDR machine and slid in a few coins. She chose solo mode and then the highest level. The music was a familiar tune, one they'd used in class only a few days ago, and she was ready. Sayuri set her bag to the side and prepared for the game to start. The music began, the game started...and she danced.
Sayuri danced with skill and precision, instead of just the usual players who trod on the panels without any sort of finesse. Her body moved for her, following the rhythm of the music as naturally as breathing. She just didn't realize that she was starting to get an onlooker or two as well, but just danced until the song began to wind down.

After recovering from his attack, Daichi lifted his character back up to his feet. Man, Sakura really had no idea what she was doing, given how she had a sliver of health left and was performing one of Night Fox's longest taunts.
Ah well. He'd get beaten soon anyway!
Rushing forward, Daichi brought Red over towards the ninja and struck her down. She fell with a dramatic death-cry and the game announced that Red was the winner.
Daichi found himself grinning softly as he looked over towards Sakura. "Hey, it was a great game, right? No worries, I'm going to lose just as bad when it comes to race cars and--"
The funk of the DDR machine a few consoles down began to boom suddenly. The group that had flocked around the King Battle Royal game had shifted over towards the DRR machine, and Daichi found his eyes drawn that way too. He gave a whistle as he watched the girl dance on one of the hardest songs.
"Oh man...she's pretty good huh, Sakura-chan?" Daichi said with a grin over at his new friend.

Sakura followed Daichi's eyes, taking her loss in good stride, to some girl playing DDR. That was a game Sakura was pretty good at, though racing was still her forte. The girl was quite attractive though.
'Not as much as Oki-chan, but not bad.' Sakura though, checking the girl out before concentrating on her performance. Anyone around who had looked directly at her would have noticed, but it was subtle.
"Yeah, not bad. She is very fluid, and clearly doesn't get bothered by a crowd watching." Sakura said as if explaining on a documentary.
"You ever play that game?"

Sayuri finished the song with a spin and flourish, breathing heavily. She'd also gotten a perfect score. Smiling in satisfaction, she stepped down from the platform to see a small crowd had gathered around her.
"Thank you for watching, that was very nice of you," and she inclined her head briefly before wandering around to see the other games.
Mm, nothing really that suits me. I don't think I should dance again, unless I want to draw a larger audience. Then again, people who are good at video games and things usually do draw attention. She noticed a young man and a woman next to the fighting game were watching her and she smiled and raised a hand in greeting, approaching their console on the way out.
"Is this a new one?" she gestured to the fighting game. "I haven't seen it in here before."

"Eh?" Came Daichi's response when Sakura asked him a question; he was way too engrossed in the impressive dancing that the newcomer was doing. He turned his head back to his new friend and blinked his eyes a few times, then it dawned on him.
"Oh! Oh...I know how to fight and all, but when it comes to dancing...I kinda have two left feet, ha!" He laughed, scratching his head.
Daichi turned his attention back to the brunette and watched her approach them. He grinned broadly up at her and gained a boyish glint in his eyes when she inquired about the game.
"Ah, it is new! Just came out today, actually!" Daichi exclaimed, "King Battle Royal VI! Oh man, I've been waiting for two years for this to come out, and it's so awesome! I can't wait to take on story mode!" He snapped out of his youthful enthusiasm and realized he was being a bit rude for not introducing himself first. He smiled up at the girl.
"Oh...I'm Reiniku Daichi, and this is Midori Sakura! Nice to meet you!"

"Nice to meet you. My name is Mizushima Sayuri," she nodded to them both, smiling warmly. "Unfortunately I can't stay long, I have a few other things to do for my classes at the university. I do drop by once in a while to play the dancing game though. Perhaps I'll see you again?"
With that, she left, waving to the two. She just remembered she had to get to the library and check out some research materials for one of her history classes. Sayuri darted off onto the sidewalk and made her way briskly towards the library. It was a bit of a walk, but she didn't mind. What a nice boy, that Daichi. I hope I see him and his friend again.

Sakura was quiet as the girl had approached them. This girl seemed familiar the closer she got, but Sakura couldn't quite place it. Being a person who had a few enemies, she decided not to risk drawing attention to herself in case this person was familiar because they had not gotten along before. She didn't look like someone Sakura would have been around, but you never know.
Sakura bowed slightly as the girl left, no point in being overly rude) and turned to her new friend.
"She seemed familiar...nonetheless I kinda have to jet as well. Didn't plan on being here as long as I have." She explained to Daichi as she reached into her pocket and pulled out keys to a vehicle.
"I'll see you around here. I'm here pretty often if not down at the crystal chasm. Later!" She said, turning and heading out of the building. Right outside, she was stopped by a large man...
...in a police uniform....
...next to her bike....
"oh shit." was all Sakura could say as the man explained how her vehicle had been clocked a few times around town speeding and driving recklessly. She had him toned out until he dropped a bomb of a statement.
"You're coming to the palace with us." He told Sakura, pointing to a vehicle. The royal guard? Apparently Sakura had been speeding and such a bit TOO close to the palace and the royal guards had been dispatched. Great...
"Ok, Lead the way, but unless you have footage you can't say it was me." Sakura explained as she got into the squad vehicle and rode off with the officers.

Daichi enthusiastically waved to Sayuri as she swiftly left, a broad grin across his face. "Nice meeting you Sayuri-chan! Be sure to stop by again, maybe we can play a game together!"
He turned his head to Sakura as she spoke, also flashing her a smile. "Ah...no worries Sakura-chan! I know people have schedules to keep! Nice meeting you as well...maybe we can hang out again, sometime?" Daichi waved to her and found himself alone again, which he was perfectly fine with. After all...he had met two new people today! That always left him smiling and feeling fulfilled.
With that, he turned back to the King Battle Royal game and inserted some more coinage and selecting "story mode." Everything around Daichi drowned out as he began the epic quest of Red...so much that he didn't even notice Sakura being dragged off by the Royal Guard.
