There were days where Kiyoshi seriously questioned his intuition, but it had never sent him on the wrong course before. For him, he always likened it to a taut string being plucked, and a unique resonance drew him forth.
That was exactly what had him standing at the entrance of a bookstore within the mall, a place he would have preferred to avoid entirely due to the atmosphere that it held. He tried, of course, but it was only due diligence to go to some relatively insignificant locales to seek out if there was anything occurring amongst the proletariat. Really, with a sighting of a monster at the palace, there was a good chance that such a horribly crowded place might need an eye on it. He simply had never had an expectation of something so significant occurring, for he knew that this feeling he had was not a connection to one of his brothers in arms.
Though outwardly composed, Kiyoshi wondered if the mindlessly chatty masses of young women that crashed around him like waves in the sea could hear his heartbeat. He was almost sure of it, in fact, for he'd thought for years that this was something completely unattainable. By chance or fate, there was no doubt in his mind that the tall figure he caught sight of inside of that store was their leader.
It didn't matter the strange circumstances, nor the atmosphere around them, this was him. The one he had searched for all these years just as the omens of an upcoming conflict had begun was right there!
He rushed inside, slipping through the crowd to get a better look without a second thought. It was amazing, and the man looked powerfully built and rather handsome if one were to appreciate that sort of thing. He could easily be the kind of man that Kiyoshi had imagined, strong and...
...and...
...was that man standing in front of a massive display of shoujo manga?

On any normal day, the bookstore within the mall would only have a mild-to-moderate crowd lurking within its walls. On a normal day, the sheer amount of rapid fangirls would've been next to none. But, unfortunately for the blonde-haired man as he entered into the store, this was hardly any ordinary day.
No, this was a big day for all of the rapid fangirls out there. The new volume of the hit-series, Magical Girl Pon Pon, was released today. Girls of all ages flocked to the bookstores throughout Japan to get their fresh-off-the-presses copy, fighting and tearing their way through the crowds to get their volume.
...And the store was filled with mostly girls, save one.
Daichi, given his large size and good looks, had managed to catch a lot of the girls off-guard, causing them to stop and stare as he made his way back towards the large shoujo manga section. Oddly enough, his physical appearances were very similar to the romantic interest of the story, Kamen Red, which is what caused the girls to stare and flock around him.
Of course, he treated this with nothing short of a laugh and a smile as he snagged his copy, and began to fish through the other volumes on sale at the stand. He didn't even seem to notice the cooing masses, only laughing when they offered the notion of his similar appearances towards the hero.
After grabbing another volume of shoujo manga, Daichi made his way out of the crowds and headed towards the checkout, not even noticing that someone was staring at him - someone male.

It took Kiyoshi a second (and a klutzy pigtailed schoolgirl accidentally stepping on his foot) to shake himself out of his stupor. Attis failed to notice him entirely, it seemed, and he couldn't just let that man get out of his sight. He rushed to snag one of those silly little comic books, neatly hip checking little miss pigtails off to the side in the process, and stepping quickly through the crowd to head towards the checkout as well. He had to keep up a front, that much was certain, until he could find a way to confront the man away from such crowds.
He promptly tripped himself, easy enough in these circumstances, and went stumbling until he reached out and caught the man by the arm. And there was surely no way Attis could miss that ripple of intuition now, could he?
In forty-five seconds, he'd managed to do more than in an entire lifetime just by bumping into him out of sheer chance.
"Oh my, my," the blond exclaimed as if in shock at his perceived failure to keep his balance, looking up through thick lashes at the much larger man. He curled his lips up into a sheepish little smile, and he let go as he steadied himself. It was a little brash, this strategy, but he'd at least have an opportunity for a conversation opener. "How terribly clumsy of me. You really must forgive me."
And the girls that had been watching, promptly wondered when this went from an apparent genre shift straight from shoujo to boys love. If that was actually a boy pestering their handsome Kamen Red lookalike, that was.

Here Daichi was, minding his own buisness and waiting in line when something most pecruler happened.
Next thing he knew, another man practically flung himself at him and gripped onto his powerful, muscular arm for balance. The bookstore swiftly turned silent as the girls gawked at the scene - this incredibly attractive, strong man had a very much bishounen boy clinging to him for dear life. Quickly, their minds turned towards the perverted.
Daichi, however, didn't notice these stares and thought nothing of it. Laughing, he lifted his arm up and brought is other around to grip the blonde boy's other arm, helping him to his feet.
"Ah, it's no problem at all!" Daichi said with a broad grin down towards him, "It would take a bulldozer to plow me over! No harm done, so there's nothing to forgive, okay? As long as you're not hurt, that is!"
As he assisted the other boy up, Daichi caught glance of the Magical Girl Pon Pon in his hand, and his grin brightened. "Oh! You like Magical Girl Pon Pon, too? Here I thought I was the only guy in the world that did!"

There was just a moment where he was completely confident as he was steadied by those strong hands. Unfortunately for him, there wasn't a single chance for that to last as the tall man opened his mouth and nearly stunned the blond into utter insensibility. Did that man have any idea how much he sounded like an excitable teenaged girl?
"I- I'm fine, really," he insisted as he tried to formulate some sort of plan. He glanced at the back of the volume of manga surrepticiously as he held it up, passing it off as a perfectly enthusiastic little gesture. He had enough information to fake it now, and he couldn't believe he was actually going so far as to lower himself to this. Yet, he had sworn to do anything to bring Attis into the fold. If that meant having to make a fool of himself until he had a chance to catch him privately, then he accepted it no matter how much a bitter taste it left in his mouth.
"My goodness, you are certainly not," Kiyoshi announced, going on an entirely too pleasant sort of autopilot, a faint flush staining his cheeks as the only indication he was mortified. What was he saying? His little smile didn't once slip off his face as he chuckled a little, shrugging up his shoulders. He had to make some sort of connection, that much was paramount, and suddenly he desperately wished one of his more shameless comrades was in his place now. "I'm just so excited, we'll finally get to find out what secret Kamen Red is harboring."
What was he getting himself into here? And exactly how was he going to pull this off?

The awkwardness of the situation just didn't seem to register in Daichi's mind. Even with the silent staring of rabid fangirls surrounding himself and his would-be companion, he merely thought nothing of it. After all, it wasn't every day he ran into another guy who enjoyed Magical Girl Pon Pon!
However, as soon as the other man made mention of the contents of the volume, all was lost. Daichi grinned broadly before speaking.
"I know, right?!" He said with a laugh, "Rie-chan has been having such a hard time recently, huh? I mean, she's always been smittin' with Kamen Red, but she's begining to develop feelings toward Akashi, too! She's so conflicted and doesn't know who she really loves...I mean, it's about as juicy as it gets!"
Not even waiting for a response, Daichi continued, "I mean, we readers know who Akashi really is...but what is he hiding, right? They've been keeping us in suspense for 12 volumes already! There's gotta be something, right? And how psyched are you that they're finally making an Anime out of this?!"
Taking a deep breath, he then asked the other boy a question, "Ah, but anyway...what do you think Kamen Red is hiding, huh?" Daichi then smiled honestly, tilting his head and waiting for a response from his companion.

There were two real options presenting themselves to Kiyoshi right then, and neither of them were particularly appealing. or, the far more melodramatic part of himself considered, death was the only other thing that seemed plausible in this situation. The more the man spoke, the worse it seemed. King Endymion, wise King Endymion, couldn't have decided on such a successor, one that was proving every single time he spoke that he had even less intelligence than Kiyoshi previously estimated.
This was all so wrong, and yet the part of him that was governed by his other self was completely enthralled by that strong and powerful presence. Everything he was doing and saying now was pure reflex as he scrambled for his wits.
"Honestly, having just one idea in mind would lead to such disappointment," Kiyoshi admitted, and he wasn't just talking about the subject at hand. That proved to be the truth already, even if he was just throwing together whatever came to mind in an effort to not be made a liar of. "But I am quite sure it will be very... interesting."
In all of this, he didn't even realize the clerk was rather expectantly looking at them. Some people, after all, didn't have time for a pair of attractive young men to be flirting on such a busy day.

At the new boy's comment about having more then one idea in their head at once, Daichi took a moment to lean back slightly and stroke his chin thoughtfully.
He wasn't fooling anyone, to say the least.
"Hmmm...well, I do suppose you have a point there!" He said with a broad grin, "But my brain can only really hold one thought at a time...ahahaha! I guess I'll just have to wait and see, right?"
The cashier before Daichi cleared her throat loudly and drew his attention away from his new..."friend" of sorts. Blinking and arching his eyebrows, he turned and faced her, just now noticing that the line had cleared and it was now his turn.
"Coming, coming!" He announced, before briefly turning towards the other young man. "Well, I suppose I'll see you around here, huh? Nice meeting you!" And, with a friendly wave, he went to go get check out before those in line got TOO impatient.

Kiyoshi nodded his head a little dumbly, lips pursed into a frown. Only one idea? Wait. That had been a joke, certainly. Yet why did it seem to hold such a ring of truth to it?
It wasn't until the other man was at the register before he'd managed to reply just a bit slowly, "Nice... meeting you, too."
His phone was ringing now, he realized, and in his current fugue he was just a little bit distracted from the necessary task at hand. Just enough that when he reached for it, he'd looked away. By the time he'd looked back, all he could see was a crowd of girls.
No.
No, no, no!
How could someone so tall disappear so quickly?! He hadn't even gotten a name!
