Like light turned toward a mirror
Hate will soon splash back onto yourself
There is no win or lose in times of love
You should see gentleness in weakness
Character Name: Daichi Reiniku
Shitennou Name: Attis
Age: 26
Birthdate: May 1st
Personality: When people first meet Daichi, they assume he’s a lot younger then he actually is. Most of the time, he’s a complete goof-ball; he’s friendly, chatty and has a great sense of humor. He easily finds humor and delight in the smallest of things, and is always the one to be cracking jokes and making very bad puns. Sometimes extremely bad. But Daichi doesn’t care; he’s here to have fun and by god he’s going to do it! Even if he looks like a dorky idiot (…which is true) doing it, he will do it, just to bring a smile to someone’s face.
Aside from his goofy nature, Daichi is also very friendly and conscious of others feelings and needs. In a sense, he’s sometimes the chivalrous knight people like to write fantasy novels about. He’s always putting ladies and the elderly first, opening doors for them and picking stuff up for them if they drop it. Above all else, Daichi is just an all-around nice guy, despite his shortcomings on the intelligence side.
While he’s usually laid back, playful and nice, Daichi does take his work as a martial artist very seriously. He is extremely passionate about his craft and completely focused upon his studies and his training. He knows how to be serious, especially about his training, and it’s probably the only time you’ll see him take something so seriously and with such focus. Whenever the time comes for him to take on a responsible position of duty, Daichi will take it with the same focus and drive as he takes his training, giving it 110% always.
Physical Appearance: Daichi is a tall, muscular and extremely attractive male. Standing at six foot five inches and rippled with muscles due to his martial arts experience and training – though they aren’t of the “body builder” sort. Instead, he is built in the way any martial artist would – sleek, but still muscular. His skin always seems to have a healthy tan to it, though it darkens considerably during the summer months, due to all of his outdoor training and jogging.
Daichi doesn’t really care for his hair all that much. His head is covered in a messy, shoddily-cut mop of rich auburn hair, falling in messy layers ranging from about five inches to just brushing his shoulder blades. His bangs, likewise, are in slight disarray, but are often parted towards his left side. A pair of curious, dark green eyes manage to peer out from beyond his bangs. Usually, Daichi’s hair is left loose, though he will tie it back for training/instructing/jogging.
Usually, Daichi dresses in loose-fitting, comfortable and causal clothing, usually in browns, reds and crèmes. He also prefers to wear sandals and will wear them as long as humanly possible – only throwing on warmer shoes when snow is actually on the ground. He also has an awesome messenger bag that he takes everywhere.
Strengths: Compassionate, loyal, protective, fun-loving, laid-back, charming, physical prowess, Karate (specifically Kumite), responsible (only in certain situations).
Weaknesses: Downright stupid (the jury is still out on how he managed to finish high school), immature, one-track mind, bad metabolism (he needs to eat near constantly to keep himself active!), doesn’t know what ‘no’ means, annoying at times, bad table manners, can’t sit still/always going, forgetful.
Dreams: Daichi dreams of traveling throughout Asia and learning the various martial arts throughout the countries therein. He hopes to learn as much about his craft as possible before he opens up his own dojo. His ultimate goal is to create his own style of martial art and open up a dojo for it.
Habits: Whenever Daichi gets confused (it happens a lot), he has a tendency to raise his eyebrows and blink his eyes repetitively. He also has a tendency to say “um” or “uh” a whole lot. Whenever he has nothing to do or is forced to sit around for any amount of time, he begins to jiggle his leg and strum his fingers. The poor guy can’t sit still for more then two seconds before he gets all jittery. Also, he hums a lot.
Background: Daichi had a comfortable life growing up. The typical household, actually; a father who worked, a mother who stayed at home and house kept, and two younger sisters. Daichi loved playing with his little sisters, and the family was happy for most of his young life.
Daichi, however, was always a rambunctious child and tended to tear around the house all day or spend the entire day playing in the park, only to return home and…tear up the house some more. He couldn’t sit still, and he had all of this unfocused energy just craving for an outlet. He drove his mother insane and eventually they tried various sports to get him involved in. Daichi would have none of it, until at the age of 6 he was enrolled a beginning karate class, in which he flourished. He finally had an outlet for all of that access energy and was showing great promise in the field as well.
Towards his early teens, Daichi took an interest in the Kumite form of karate – the kind used for sparring and defensive training. He began to focus his studies more on this form.
Somehow, through some act of god, the dim-witted Daichi managed to finish high school, but instead of going to college, he opted to focus all of his studies and energy on perfecting his craft within Karate. He got a job at the dojo he trained at and moved out of the house, and was fairly content. However, at age 20, tragedy struck his home as his father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Daichi was forced to grow up a little and moved back in with his family and helped tend to his father and help his mother pay the bills. His father died eight months later, and the family was forced to move into a much smaller apartment.
Daichi learned more about responsibility due to this, and became much more focused and devoted to martial arts so he could get more raises so he could help his family thrive. While he still remained that moronic, fun-loving guy, he began to show his serious side more often.
At age 24, his youngest sister finished high school and moved into college, and thanks to the low funds of the family, was able to get financal aid. Daichi’s mother was now able to support herself and any needs the daughters might need, so Daichi moved back out, but lived close-by should his family need anything. Since then, he has been working on his Karate and his career at teaching at the dojo.
Of Whom I Serve
Residing Power: Earth
Uniform Description: Similar to Endymion’s previous design, but with a few modifications. For one, Attis does not use a sword, instead he prefers to use his skill over the empty hand to beat down on his enemies. As such, his sleeves are tucked into black fingerless gloves, and over them he wears simple leather gauntlets. They appear simple in nature, though are magically imbued to protect his knuckles from breaking whenever he hits something. His cape is noticeably shorter, ending just before his knees. Also, his boots are short, which allows his black, loose-fitting pants to flow free. They are brown with slightly pointed toes, and have some light golden-colored greaves over the tops of them, to deal an extra punch when he kicks something. The main colors of his uniform are sienna brown, rust, black, gold and off-white.
Attack Name: Terra Cleave
Description of Attack: Lifting his hands up, Attis thrusts his right fist into his open left palm, resembling a traditional Chinese greeting. Bowing at the hips, he raises his right fist into the air, then leaps off of the ground whilst shouting the word “Terra.” While in mid-air, Attis twists his fist to make a downwards swiping motion, aiming it towards the ground while his body begins to fall. He lands in a crotched, kneeling position with his left leg propped, then rams his fist down into the ground below. As soon as his fist hits the ground, he shouts “Cleave” and releases a massive shock-wave from his fist, causing the ground below him to shoot forward like a wave of rock. The wave will then crash into anything near-by, knocking them backwards and dealing blunt damage. The spikes of rock can also impale things as well, and it’s generally a pretty destructive attack. However, Attis has no control over who this hits; enemies and allies alike can and will be affected by this attack. It is purely a chaotic move, and because of the risks, Attis prefers to only use this in dire circumstances, preferring to use his knowledge of Karate in combat instead.

Roleplaying Sample: Today was a slightly over-cast day. While the news forewarned of a storm approaching and people chose to stay indoors, it was little to deter Daichi from his usual routine of running around his subdivision. It was his pre-lunch jog, after all!
There wasn’t much to do for him, anyway. He had no classes to teach – dull in and of itself – and had already put most of the morning in training at the dojo, practicing his moves. Otherwise, his schedule was completely free…and it slightly irritated him.
After all, Daichi was an active man bursting at the seams with energy, so when he had nothing to do, boredom quickly set in and he’d get anxious. Granted, he had some new shojo manga to read sitting at home, but that could only tide him over for so long. So…for now, it was just jogging.
On his rounds, he passed the familiar faces of those he had gotten to known since and his family moved to this area. Ms. Masaki was out watering her garden, despite the threats of the news; Mr. Murasaki had come out to fetch the mail for today, right on time; And Mrs. Saato out playing with her young toddler on the front lawn. Daichi smiled and waved towards each of these people as he ran past, receiving a friendly wave and hello back, as they knew full well that he would continue running eve if they wanted to chat.
However, a crash of thunder rolled through the skies and they suddenly opened up, dumping water onto the area quite suddenly. Daichi stopped in mid-stride and let out a startled “Gack!” sound as he was suddenly soaking wet. Sighing unhappily, he shook his arms off and pulled his wet bangs from his eyes.
“Well…I guess I should’ve listened to the weatherman today, and brought an umbrella!” He said do no-one but himself, laughing at it like it was some kind of a joke. “Ah well…a little bit of rough weather ain’t going to stop me! Hear that, Mother Nature?” He laughed again at the heavens and opened his arms for a moment, welcoming the refreshing feel of the rain against his skin.
“Well…better get going again!” Smiling, Daichi did a few quick stretches and began to jog off down the street again, hearing the resounding splash of his feet against the wet pavement, coupled with the tranquil sound of the rain and the gentle roll of thunder in the heavens.
