Faction Feature: Henchmen
Who You Are:
Your purpose is quite simple: Serve your master. You embody the emotions and sentiments of the one you serve. So you always want to do your best in serving “Master” and making them happy with you. The Master’s enemies are your enemies, and you don’t question what you’re told to do. However, you are not infallible and not a complete robotic drone. Sometimes you might embody some of kinder elements of your master’s persona, able to see through the dark and realize things that others might not. Or you might embody the much darker and aggressive aspects of their very nature, making you stubborn to the cause and unable to see reason. Whoever you end up being, you will serve your master with confidence and determination.
About the Henchmen Feature / Faction:
Henchmen have been designed in order to add extra obstacles and plot points to the game. Individuals who are allowed to “create / summon” them are the Mirror Senshi and any subsequent force that is connected to the Shadow Army. This CAN and WILL change at some point in the future, so never hesitate to ask about exceptions. Don’t be surprised if a random henchman attack is instigated by the core administration. We are, after all, also helping to push the storyline further. Some information we’ve deliberately kept hidden in order for you the players to eventually discover new things through your characters.
Like civilians, henchmen are not considered Cast Members; so you do not need to save up Progression Points to apply for one. Instead, all players will be granted one (1) “freebie” character slot to create a henchman should they choose to do so. Consider it an invisible 4th spot reserved only for this particular type of character. Henchmen are designed to be expendable, and rarely will we assume that a player will hold onto such a character for more than a few months. Being that they aren’t as powerful as the Senshi or Shitennou, they are easier to defeat than the Mirrors or even the Star Sworn Knights in some circumstances. If a henchman dies by defeat (or by your master’s hand), you will have no choice but to discard the character; so in that case you will never be penalized for “dropping” a henchman.
All henchmen MUST serve a master of some sort. In the case of you the player, it’ll usually end up being a Mirror Senshi. Depending upon the type of Mirror your henchmen serves will determine what type of basic skills or powers you’re allowed to create from. Henchmen have the unique ability in the fact that they are more flexible with the kind of skills they’re allowed to have, as well as the fact that they have a higher number of skills in order to retain some sort of challenge to those facing off with them. Every henchman gets to utilize three (3) different kinds of skills or powers that are loosely themed within the elemental realm of their Master’s domain.
Players DO NOT have to create henchmen only for their own Mirror. If you wish to be a henchman for another player’s Mirror Senshi you are more than welcome to do it! Just make sure you’ve discussed it with them so that you both know what’s going on with the henchman’s creation. In order to keep things balanced with the amount of henchmen being created at one time, you MUST apply for a henchman and have the available character slot open to play one. There will be no “NPC-ing” one even if it’s just for a few weeks of gameplay. We’ve designed the Henchman application to be short and sweet, easy enough for anyone to fill out and have approved.
There are also no restrictions on how you wish to physically design your henchmen characters. So go nuts, the sillier and zanier the better!
