GIVE SADNESS A SAILOR SMILE
Just as a place of shining light can fall into ruin…
All things that have life will surly die.
A new world…
To create this, I would sacrifice this body.
I am Saturn of Death.
Saturn of Life.
BRING A MIRACLE, A SAILOR WING
Character Name: Gekijakuto Fusha
Name Meaning: Silent Shrine Maiden
Senshi/Shitennou Name: Sailor Saturn
Age: 19
Birthdate: April 21st
EVERYONE CARRIES A SHINING STAR
Personality: When you first meet Fusha, people tend to believe that she is an 80 year-old shrine maiden stuck within a 19 year-old’s body. There is this odd…mystical quality about her, in the way she moves and the way she speaks that makes her seem much older the she actually is. More over, she is incredibly mature for her age, and even the way she walks has this mystical air. People seem to flock to her for wisdom or guidance, and many others wonder why she isn’t a shrine maiden already.
Fusha is hardly the push-over she appears to be with her typical personality. In fact, she isn’t one to give up so easily, in part due to her role within her household. Never one to back down from what she believes in, Fusha is as tough as nails and will fight for whatever cause she has devoted herself to, no matter what. However, once you manage to earn her trust and respect, she is a good friend and often acts as a big-sister to those she cares for. Sometimes, this even goes so far as to being a mother-like figure. Even though she can be very nurturing and kind, she can also be very coddling too. But, Fusha always means well with her coddling, she just doesn’t know that it’s too much sometimes.
There’s another side to Fusha, however. While she is a fairly warm, if not cryptic individual, the spirit of Saturn that sleeps within her is quite a bit different. This side has appearing more and more frequently as her own awakening is drawing near, and often Fusha finds herself saying things that she doesn’t know where it came from – or what it means.
Strengths: Calm, mature, eloquent, wise, big-sister mode, tough-as-nails.
Weaknesses: Seemingly cold, ridiculously stubborn, often speaks in riddles and prose, coddling, Saturn is incredibly isolated and stoic, SRS BSNS, foregoes her own needs and desires to support others around her.
Dreams: That her family grows up happy and healthy. Fusha has no dreams for herself, as she is very focused upon them.
Habits: As mentioned in her weaknesses, Fusha often speaks in prose and riddles, and often doesn’t even realize it. She’s also known to start humming when doing mundane tasks, or even just sitting around.
Likes: Classical music, her little sisters, warm summer days, gentle breezes, a good book, baking cookies.
Dislikes: Disorderly conduct, storms of any kind, the cold of winter, anyone or anything that harms her sisters, riddles and rhymes, whiners, a messy room.
History: Fusha’s parents had always wanted a large family.
Fusha was born into a happy and loving home, and was an oddly pleasant, quite child that deserved a name of a respectable nature. Her parent adored her and were so thrilled when she was born…that they decided that they would continue to have children. Fusha quickly found herself a big sister when she was only 3 years old, as her parents had given birth to another child. It wasn’t long until four more daughters were born, all within the years of Fusha being 4 and 8 years old, and the wish of her parents were quickly becoming fulfilled.
The family was in a modest home, but the parents loved children so much. They worshiped and adored their five daughters and gave the children wanted for nothing – they had each other, and that was more then enough for them. The family grew up incredibly close and warm, loving and adoring of one another for all of those delightful 8 years of Fusha’s life, and some of the other children in her school were jealous of how close her family was.
When she turned 10 years old, Fusha was delighted to hear that her mother was pregnant again. However, this pregnancy was far from a joyful one. The next child was born two months far too soon, and the doctors had to fight to keep the baby girl from dying on them. Fusha was concerned for her new sister, and spent many hours watching through the plexy-glass, praying that her sister, Hikari, would survive.
That wasn’t the end of it. During the last birth, the doctors had discovered a strange heart defect within Fusha’s mother, something she had all of her life. Giving birth to six children had put a serious strain upon her condition, and it was now beginning to show its ugly head. She became bedridden and they performed many surgeries upon her heart, but it did not ease how weak she became afterwards.
While Hikari survived and started to grow up, their mother had become incredibly weak and needed to be in a wheelchair at all times. More over, Hikari had grown up with deformed legs, and needed to walk on crutches to keep her upright. The family fell on hard times after that, with the father working two jobs to keep them floating, and with the mother too weak to do much in the way of supporting.
10 year old Fusha had to grow up fast, and soon began taking up the main responsibilities of the household. Suddenly, she was no longer a child but a functioning adult, and soon became the surrogate mother of the household. While her mother still gave the six sisters adoration and love, she was unable to do much else but read to them or help them with homework. Fusha started to cook and clean, and begun to forget what it was like to be a child.
Eventually, the family made it as Fusha grew, and her love of her sisters and her parents remained strong. Her mother’s will grew in strength while her body became weak, and it became an inspiration for Fusha. Once she finished high school, she began to attend college in hopes of gaining a nursing degree, or even become a doctor. She works part-time to help pay the bills, and still does most of the work in the house.
She doesn’t resent it; and takes full responsibility for the role handed to her.
To this day, Fusha still works hard to help her family and still prays that her mother and Hikari will get better some day…and that the rest of her sisters grow up happy and healthy. She strives hard to make this a fact every day since she was 10 years old.
TO TOMORROW, A SAILOR YELL
Elemental Power: Death and Silence
Transformation Sequence: Holding her pen into the air, Fusha shouts “Saturn Planet Power, Make-Up!” and releases her hold upon the pen. The pen part dissolves, leaving only the smoky sphere in its wake, which slowly lowers down to Fusha’s heart. She crosses her wrists over it and then snaps them outwards, and the sphere emits a large shadow of swirling violet-and-black darkness, that completely engulfs Fusha. Only the sphere is seen during this process.
After a few moments, the sphere suddenly changes form into what appears to be a Pure no Kokoro (Pure Heart Crystal), then gathers together and forms silver. White, glove-covered hands reach out of the darkness and slowly disburse it, thrusting it behind her. Sailor Saturn now stands in full fuku, the crystal resting in the center of her bow as a broach. Lifting her arms above her head, Saturn calls forth her spear. Gripping it within her hands, she spins around and strikes a dramatic pose with her symbol glowing in the background.
Special Items:
- Henshin Pen: A slender, dark violet pen similar to the ones the previous Outers possessed in their original forms. The pen is decorated with silver accents, and has a large dark amethyst stone set on the top. However, instead of being completely solid, it seems slightly opaque and when Fusha transforms, it seems to swirl with energy. Her symbol rests in the center of the sphere, and a large dark purple circle wraps around the wand.
- Piercing Silence: A modified spear. The shaft is made of polished black ebony wood, and the base of the shaft is similar to the one the original Saturn had with her glaive. At the top, a piece of silver metal rests over the ebony wood, holding the head of the spear in place. Two curves of dark violet metal come down, forming arcs around the center of the metal piece, making a decorative head. From those arches comes the actual weapon part – a piece of silver metal forming into a spear-head. It is thin at the end, then comes out and back in to form a diamond shape, then it slowly tapers to a point at the very tip.
Attack Name: Death Lament
Description of Attack: Holding her spear horizontal towards the ground, Sailor Saturn extends her right arm outwards, holding the spear while her left hand raises to her mouth, palm facing to the side. She softly whispers the phrase “death” and slowly rotates her spear so the tip is pointing to the ground. A violet glow surrounds her left hand as she holds it against the shaft of the weapon, her palm resting flat over it. The glow begins to spread until it surrounds the entire spear. Saturn then rotates it in a full circle, creating a circle of purple mist in its wake, until she brings it up to point to the sky. The mist then gathers together into a sphere of glowing violet and black energy. From the butt of the weapon and the tip of the spear comes circles of glowing violet energy, meeting at the sphere and swirling around it. Saturn snaps her eyes open and shouts the phrase “Lament” and swings around, jabbing it with the tip of her spear and sending it out.
The sphere is fairly fast moving and creates a moderately sized explosion in its wake. It is easy for Saturn to control and aim, and the explosion is not large enough to endanger anyone but the target…unless someone happens to be hanging off of them or “invading their personal space.” It can detonate if it hits something else, so generally you don’t want to be directly in front of her when she begins to charge. But, Saturn (generally) knows what she’s doing. The attack can be dodged or blocked with a magical or really sturdy physical barrier.
I WILL CATCH IT, THE SAILOR STAR
Your Name: Shuu
Secret Phrase: Neptune Planet Power, Make-Up!
Roleplaying Sample: Clank clank clank.
Fusha walked slowly along the sidewalk with a sack of groceries in each arm. Beside her walked her disabled younger sister, Hikari, keeping pace with her older sister upon her crutches. Despite her disability, Hikari was bright and exuberant, and spoke loudly and pleasantly with her big sister.
“Did you see that little baby at the store, Nee-chan?!” Hikari exclaimed, “He was so cute, wasn’t he?!”
Fusha smiled softly at her little sister, her feet walking in-step with the clanking of the crutches and leg braces. “Yes, he was.”
“With cute little eyes and messy hair!” Hikari laughed, “Say…Nee-chan…are all babies that cute??”
“They sure are,” Fusha responded softly, “I’ve seen all of our sisters as babies, growing up as well.”
“Was I that cute?”
“Well…not at first, Hi-chan,” Fusha’s brows furrowed slightly as she looked ahead, “You were very small, barely large enough to fit in my hand. Your legs were all crooked and your skin was very red. The doctors did what they could to fix your legs, just like Mama’s heart. But…once you were sent home you had gotten so much larger, so much stronger.” The distant look left her face as she looked back down at the 9-year old. Fusha smiled warmly. “You’re just like Mama, Hi-chan. Your body may be weak, but your soul is powerful. It is because of your combined will to live that gives me hope and courage for the future…makes me almost believe that anything is possible within this world…and that miracles do exist.”
“Nee-chan…” Hikari found herself grinning, “Thanks! There ain’t nothin’ that’ll stop me anymore! Well…except maybe a flight of stairs…”
Fusha chuckled softly. “But you can overcome any obstacle if you try, Hikari. All you have to do is have faith in yourself…right?”
Pausing, Hikari looked up to the sky, and then back over towards her big sister. A broad grin painted itself across her face. “Right!”
