Blargh. Today was boring.
In fact, after yesterday's lightning storm, it seemed as if nothing was exciting anymore. Shinkirou couldn't explain it--he was just bored. He'd debated going to the ramen shop, but irritatingly enough, Yuki hadn't been there. Nor had he been at the curry shop. He'd heard something about Yuki going out, but the way it had been said suggested a date--
--and Shinkirou, surprising even himself, had decided he didn't care. Maybe he was coming down with something. That had to be it.
He'd trudged to the Cafe Amigo, feeling himself getting vaguely irritated. He ordered a milkshake and wandered off to an empty booth.
"So bored..." he muttered, grumbling a little.

A waitress handed Kaede her order--a soda--with a cheerful smile on her face. Kaede, on the other hand, only glanced at her for a moment, taking the drink and nodding her head a little. "M-hmm..." she answered when the girl told her to please enjoy it, turning back to look out the window, sipping the drink. Melon soda...Kaede loved that since she was a little girl...It was one of the only things that she hadn't grown tired of, didn't think was boring.
Speaking of boring, Kaede had spent ages staring out her window the night before, and scanned the sky that very day, hoping for another sign of a storm. Nothing. To be honest, she felt disappointed by that. The storm had really livened things up for her, and now it was gone, just like that...Back to the normal, old life, she supposed.
A familiar voice caught her attention as she took another drink, and she turned around to look in the booth behind her. Red hair, she thought, setting her drink down and twirling her ring again. Mmm...I wonder? If she was right...
Kaede slowly reached out, poking the young man in the back of the head. "You're bored, too?" she asked him, tone flat as usual.

Shinkirou drank his milkshake, a pout forming on his face. Nothing to do, no one to see, no one to snark--nothing was going on today! He felt so let down. Blargh. He supposed everyone had dull days though. He grumbled as someone poked the back of his head, turning to glare at them.
"Dude seriously, what the f--oh." he began, his anger vanishing as he saw Kaede. He nodded when she asked if he was bored, gesturing vaguely for her to sit down with him. "Nothing interesting's going on today. It's a goddamn drag."

"So it is," Kade agreed, sighing a little as she moved to the next booth. She took a seat across from Shinkirou, taking another drink of her soda. "Welcome to my life," she added, mentally smacking herself for such a cliche saying. She wondered if anyone else in town was this bored...maybe it was just the day; maybe everyone was having an awful, boring day today. That would be a bit comforting, knowing she wasn't alone in this.
Well, she certainly wasn't alone now, she realized, since Shinkirou was also bored. "Since nothing's happening," she began slowly. "It almost makes you want to do something....We should do something, hm?"

The young man stopped in midsip, wondering why the hell he hadn't thought of that. Swallowing, he cleared his throat and pointed at her, a small grin beginning to form. "I like the way you think." Shinkirou said craftily--then frowned, at a loss for ideas. They could go bother Yuki and Kyoutei, but, well, Kaede didn't seem like the type of person to do that and besides, he knew he'd get his ass kicked even harder than usual for messing up that particular event. Not to mention his sister and his mom would get involved--agh, he didn't want that happening either.
Frowing, he took another drink of his milkshake, praying some spectacular idea would come to him. When it didn't, he sighed--perhaps a touch too dramatically, but a sigh nonetheless.
"I got nothing. You?"

Kaede hadn't thought that far ahead either. She sat there, just staring, for a moment before frowning. In an almost-defeated fashion, she leaned forward, elbows on the table, and stared into her drink. That was...a pretty good question. What would be entertaining?
"Pretend to have food poisoning and scare someone?" she mumbled, half to herself. No, that wouldn't do...They'd be kicked out of the cafe and might not be let back in. That or the joke would be taken too far and the place would close. And besides, Kaede didn't really want to do that. She glanced out the window for a moment, quickly looking away when she saw a jogger outside.
Damnit, what can I do? she thought, frustratedly turning her ring again. Anything would be more interesting...Anything- Kaede suddenly turned back towards Shinkirou and slammed her hands on the table, making a satisfyingly loud noise. Her face remained neutral as she suddenly said, "Mind games. Mental games. Know any?"
