And If I had a million dollars I'd buy your love
If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I had a million dollars
Now, we'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I had a million dollars
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner
But we would eat Kraft Dinner
Of course we would, we’d just eat more
Character Name: Shizuko Yuukino - Quiet child of ghosts
Senshi Name: Sailor Saturn
Age: 19
Birthdate: December 1st
Personality: Shizuko is very easygoing, warm and very friendly to pretty much anyone. Her love of photography tends to get her into a bit of hot water though as she has a terrible tendency to whip out her camera and take photos at the most inopportune moments. She is still understandably wary about revealing her wealth to anyone and whilst that doesn’t stop her making friends it does stop her from making lots of friends. She does avoid mentioning details of her life to those she makes friends with, making it very difficult to make any kind of deeper connection with anyone.
Hiding her life and her parents’ money from her friends takes its toll on her, and she can become terribly impatient and crabby when it gets a bit much for her – usually she tries to pass this off as lack of sleep and attempts to laugh her grumpiness off. Sometimes she just can’t, however, and at times like this she tends to retire either to her darkroom or to the nearest park to lose herself in her photography. She is trying to get over her mistrustful nature and knows that, now she is an adult, she should be more adult and open about her situation. But years of personal guardedness have to be given time to overcome, she realises.
As a senshi, Saturn is a quiet, serious girl who will bow immediately to any orders from Sailor Moon. Saturn believes completely in Moon’s leadership and will never question her orders out loud – she may wonder to herself the wisdom of Moon’s moves, but would never say so.
Physical Appearance: Shizuko’s dark auburn hair is parted over her right eye and hangs straight to her shoulder blades, with the left hand side of her hair kept off her face with one of her large collection of brightly coloured hair clips, framing her slightly chubby cheeked face. Her heavy lidded pale blue-green eyes always make her look a little sleepy or overly relaxed, and share her face with a button nose and a slightly thin-lipped mouth that curves ever so slightly up at the corners.
Standing at 5ft 3ins (1.64m) she isn’t the tallest in the room, and her very casual and comfortable dress sense usually finds her wearing either t-shirts and scruffy old jeans or her favourite pair of short denim dungarees over a t-shirt or vest in really warm weather. Almost always in the cooler spectrum of colours, Shizuko is most often seen in blues and blue-purple colours, and very rarely wears make-up. She does, however, “scrub up well” (as she’s been told several times) and adores formal occasions for the chance they offer to wear fancy dresses and look like she’s a princess.
Strengths: Artistic and creative, Shizuko can find the beauty and the bright side in almost anything, and excels at cheering people up or distracting them from their problems. She is also incredibly generous with those few she does consider true friends, and will spring upon them as many pleasant surprises as she can manage.
Weaknesses: Shizuko finds it difficult to trust people and whilst she will quite happily befriend almost anyone, she makes sure people find out little about her. This can make her evasive and dismissive when people ask about her family, and she finds it incredibly easy to just cut people out of her life. Having so few people she feels she can trust completely also means that Shizuko tends to bottle up her negative feelings, feeling that there is nobody she trusts fully enough to explain the frustrations that bring her down.
Dreams: To be a professional photographer - nature, weddings, portraits, anything. Shizuko loves to capture moments, to preserve them from fading to obscurity.
Habits: The only habit that Shizuko notices is her terrible tendency to gnaw on the skin either side of her right thumbnail when things begin to get to her or when she is thinking – often the end of her thumb is quite pink from being chewed on.
Background: Born in Tokyo to Hikaru and Naoko Yuukino, a pair of newly married and incredibly sensible investment bankers, Shizuko was never spoiled when she was young. Hikaru and Naoko were always very shrewd and cautious with their money and not wishing their daughter to become spoiled and obnoxious they deliberately kept their lifestyle modest and tried to teach their daughter that there was more to life than money.
They succeeded quite admirably, and when Shizuko began Elementary school nobody ever really knew about her parents’ wealth apart from her best friend Akemi, who frequently stayed with Shizuko. They were like sisters, and the only time Shizuko let her wealth show was when she bought birthday presents for Akemi, and for her 12th birthday Shizuko bought her a gold bracelet and friendship necklace set which was quite obviously expensive. When the most popular girl in school spotted the expensive gift she took an immediate liking to Shizuko. Wanting to impress Ren, Shizuko bought her a necklace when her birthday came round, only for Ren to throw the gift in her face and complain that this “cheap piece of rubbish” wasn’t worth her time. This quite obviously shook Shizuko, and since then she has been very guarded about her wealth.
Always a very artistic child, her parents bought her a camera when she began middle school and her love of photography and capturing images blossomed from there, and during high school her talent really shone through. She ended up president of her high school Photography and Art clubs, and was rarely seen without her camera somewhere about her person.
Graduating from high school with such high marks in her art subjects, Shizuko could quite easily have gone straight in to Tokyo University but instead she chose to defer her entry for a year and try to make a living from her photography. Her parents are currently paying the rent on a tiny apartment in Tokyo so she can get used to living on her own – this is their biggest indulgence for their child and she feels slightly embarrassed that her parents are paying for her house.
The Senshi Side of Life
Elemental Power: Death & Silence
Transformation Phrase: Saturn Power, Make Up!
Uniform Description: A royal purple choker and sailor collar match a purple pleated skirt, with a plain white bodice in between. Two maroon bows - one on the back of her skirt and one on her chest - decorate the outfit, with the bow on her chest topped with a white heart shaped brooch. Her white elbow length gloves are topped with three purple rolls, and her lower legs encased with purple, knee high laced boots.
Attack Name: Saturn Silent Eulogy!
Description of Attack: Saturn drops to her knees, her hands clasped in front of her brooch. She calls her attack phrase and then looks directly at the target as a stream of purple ribbons of energy flow past her and wrap themselves around the mouth and jaws of the victim, silencing them. This attack can begin to suffocate victims if left long enough, but the longer the effect is maintained the more energy it drains from Saturn. Targets faces must be in an unbroken line of sight to Saturn once she begins the attack to be effected, and if they are hit they are physically undamaged, apart from being unable to speak and eventually to breathe.

Roleplaying Sample: Shizuko tossed and turned in her sleep, throwing the quilt off her bed and ending up face down in her pillows. She murmured something incoherent and turned again, this time ending up on her back. Her face creased with a frown, she was lost in her nightmare.
It had been the same nightmare for a month now – running in the dark towards a black cat on a hillside, only to find that something attacked her in the dark. She ran and stumbled her way through the darkness until she spotted a figure but when she tried to call out for help no sound came. It wasn’t until she’d had the nightmare a couple of time that she realised that not only could she not speak, but there was no sound at all in the dream – not from her feet pounding on the ground as she ran, not from the unseen force that knocked off her feet time and time again and not from the cat that waited patiently for her on the hilltop.
The figure she tried to call for help, she had come to realise, was a statue. But not just any statue – it was the memorial statue of Queen Serenity. A statue she’d never seen in real life. But in her nightmare it loomed before her, pale and glowing in the darkness before taking on a strange, purple hue. Casting about in the darkness for the purple light she found that it was coming from her, and looking down she saw her body glowing with royal purple energy.
It was usually around then that she woke up with a start, a cold sweat beading her skin. In the darkness of her familiar bedroom her breathing slowed and her hands unclenched from the sheets as the normality crept back in to her mind. It’s just a dream, she thought, as she sat up and retrieved her quilt to keep the cool night air from her skin, don’t be silly.
But she couldn’t help wonder why it wouldn’t go away.
