GIVE SADNESS A SAILOR SMILE
BRING A MIRACLE, A SAILOR WING
Character Name: Helios of Elysion
Name Meaning: God of the Sun of Elysion
EVERYONE CARRIES A SHINING STAR
Personality: Helios is known to be rather reserved, quite nearly bordering on shy, in part due to the many years in which he stayed in seclusion in Elysion. He tends to stay in the background much of the time as a quiet influence on his beloved Queen, and it isn't very often he can be seen away from the Palace grounds by himself unless he is visiting the Memorial. While he seems to appear rather distant at times, it really isn't intentional.
There is often a great sadness that can be seen in his eyes, a lurking guilt that can usually be kept suppressed. He has never managed to forgive himself for being unable to so much as try to aid the Royal Family when the invasion occurred. He's startlingly like most fathers where his little girl is concerned, and the only time he could ever be considered actually menacing, if in a very quiet way, is when he is concerned for his daughter and would like it to be openly known.
Strengths: As the guardian of the dreams of humans, he is afforded a number of unique powers; Helios can visit dreams, transform into Pegasus, and cross between the real world and Elysion all at will. He is of an even temperament and is quite wise, allowing him the luxury of good judgment in stressful circumstances. His gentle and compassionate nature often allow him the ability to connect very well with other people.
Weaknesses: Helios has no combat skills to speak of, is relatively physically weak, and has powers that work too subtly to be of any use to himself in combat. One of his bigger weaknesses, however, is the fact that he has a dreadful time saying no to his daughter or his wife. He also can be just a little unpractical and has a tendency to lose track of time, particularly when he is praying. Additionally, his good judgement is at risk of flying out the window when his family is in danger and he may very well be liable to endanger himself in hopes of defending them. Lastly, the wonders of technology frequently befuddle him beyond measure.
Dreams: To protect the beautiful dreams of innocents, and to see his daughter realize her own dreams.
Habits: Helios frequently uses what has become a favored petname for his wife when speaking with her, calling her "my maiden". Also, in recent times, he has become noticably distracted by premonitions of the corruption of pure dreams.
Likes: Spending time with his beloved wife and daughter, beautiful dreams, children, the peace and quiet of visiting Elysion, having opportunities to fly in his other form
Dislikes: Young men with more than a passing fondness for his daughter, the new moon, cacophonous music, greedy people, loud vehicles, people that pity themselves without trying to improve their lives, those that are reckless with or abuse their powers
History: The guardian of Elysion has a long history, but the most pertinent of it is his relatively recent years. It had been his duty to keep Elysion inviolate and the Golden Crystal safe from influence, something that held him from participating in the terrible battle with the Shadow Army. It was that event that became his reason to try to live on Earth to be with Chibiusa. Unable to bear the thought of leaving his beloved maiden to her grief, he descended from Elysion and in time married her.
That marked an interesting transition in his life, particularly in light of the fact that he still remains a priest of Elysion and the new responsibilities as King made accommodating both duties quite an interesting feat. Nonetheless, he adapted fairly well over time, and found a healthy balance as well as one with his relationship.
Helios truly believed he couldn't be more content with life, but was proved wrong at the birth of his daughter. Though nothing else possibly could have, that single event made him become somewhat more down to earth and happier than he ever really thought he deserved. He doted on her outrageously when she was a small child, and still does to a slightly lesser extent.
Physically, Helios as changed only somewhat over the many years, in the past two decades did he age at a rate similar to his wife's. He's gotten a bit taller as well as filled out somewhat, but he's still rather lithe and willowy with features more pretty than handsome. It should also be noted that he no longer has a horn as he has learned to be much more subtle about protecting the Golden Crystal.
TO TOMORROW, A SAILOR YELL
Elemental Power: Dreams
Transformation Sequence: At will and without having to speak, Helios is able to transform himself into the white winged horse known as Pegasus. In a soft swirl of feathers, he can switch between forms in an instant. Also, if the need arises, he can separate his soul from his body and transform. However, it is a rather difficult process that would require anchoring himself to a pure dream and one he would use only in the most dire of circumstances as it leaves his body behind as little more than a barely breathing corpse. He hasn't tried the latter method in a very, very long time and would be much happier not doing so, honestly.
Special Items: The Golden Crystal; though he cannot tap into its power and would not wish to even if he could, he guards it as best he can.
Description of Abilities: Helios has no actual attacks to speak of, but the power of dreams can be harnessed in some ways to defend Elysion and assist others by boosting their abilities temporarily.
I WILL CATCH IT, THE SAILOR STAR
Your Name: Julia
Secret Phrase: Neptune Planet Power, Make Up
Roleplaying Sample: 'King Endymion, if only you were still among us,' thought the priest-king as he knelt with his head bowed, hands clasped before him. The sheer responsibility of trying to fill such a great man's role, it seemed, would always weight heavily on him though at least there was solace to be found in praying to those that had been lost. A man could not ask for more than he had, he knew, but the cost was one he had never been willing to pay.
Nearly two decades meant little to someone like himself to dull such a pain.
Helios stood from where he had been kneeling within the Memorial, nodding slightly to his guards that held their vigil a few yards away in a silent cue that he had finished. Unlike his wife and daughter, however, he had no fundamental objection to the trappings of going out in public and never saw the purpose of balking at having such people with him. Solitude could be nice, of course, but that could be found in the Crystal Palace. He had duties besides, a responsibility to assure the safety of the Golden Crystal, which made the pleasantly quiet company all the more welcome.
