Sakura was relieved when the photographer finished the pictures. The air was, in lieu of better words, electrifying with the emotion off Kaede and herself.
'Thank god. I need to get away from here before I do something dishonorable.' Sakura thought, taking the card and placing it in a wallet (a guy's wallet, with an old Chinese character for power on it) and grinning to the girl.
"Excellent. I'll definitely be in contact in a week to get that. I'm sure it is an excellent shot." She said, betraying only a slight restraint by her feelings of Kaede. Reaching down, she kicked her board up into a ready position.
"Well, it's been a pleasure, but I do have other places to be. I got a feeling we shall see each other again though." Sakura said, mostly to Kaede with no look of friendship on her face. It almost appeared as a passive threat, saying 'Don't mess with me. Stay away.'
With a mock tip-of-the-hat, Sakura kicked off and took off down the walkway towards the exit of the memorial to the main road. She had some shopping to do, and her favorite manga had a new issue out.

Post by Shurajou Gekkani on Feb 25, 2010 15:54:53 GMT -5
Gekkani blinked a few times before looking towards the camera-girl from moments ago. She took the compliment and returned a genuine smile. “Ahh, while I am no fan of these statues, the Queen was quite lovely, and thank you for the compliment!” She said in a slightly sing-song tone. “ But, to the matter at hand!”
Gekkani turned quickly, finding her leaning back against her statue-twin. Tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear, her other hand offering a business card to the photographer, Gekkani’s smile remained.
“ Oy, so many introductions today! I’m Shurajou Gekkani, you may have heard of me?” She expected the girl to have at least heard her name in passing – as most other photographers she hired she did not have the best reputation with, which was why she simply didn’t bother looking for more. “ I’m looking for a steady photographer, and maybe a shop-hand cashier if we can get along.” She giggled a bit, covering her mouth elegantly with her hand. And getting along with me would really fluff up a resume… Haha!

"Shurajou-san! Of course I've heard of you." Shizuko enthused, trying to remember exactly what it was she'd heard. Could she be the designer nobody would shoot for anymore? Shizuko couldn't believe that, this girl was so polite and nice. "A steady photographer? I'd love to! Actually, I have a model shoot scheduled at the Ueno Park sometime soon if you'd like to use that to showcase some of your clothing, maybe get some test shots done?" Shizuko was thrilled to have a steady stream of work offered - it meant she relied less on her parents and that could only ever be a good thing.

Post by Kagamino Emiko on Feb 26, 2010 10:39:16 GMT -5
Though she would have loved to talk fashion or watch some kind of fight break out, if there was ever to be one, Emiko had other things on her mind. The young woman remained rather silent in the background, watching as more introductions were made. Of course, she could have walked off without warning but that would've been just plain rude. Mentally groaning at the idea of comparing Gekkani to that dolt of a queen, Emiko just stood in silence for a while, waiting for a break in the conversation.
When that time came she waved farewell to Gekkani. "I have to go,Shurajou-chan. I've got a quick few errands to run before going home. I'll stop by your shop sometime, okay?" Emiko nodded peacefully to whoever the photographer was and wandered off towards the hill she had come from. As she grew further and further from those dreaded statues she felt relief growing throughout her body. The hatred and anger that made Emiko want to destroy each marble representation slowly began to subside and allowed her to release that death grip on her hidden hencsin pen.

Gekkani nodded to Emiko as she passed, giving a polite wave. “I’ll try to have some nice things ready for you to look at!” She had taken a quick size estimate and had a few ideas of a few Lolita-esque styles that would be suiting for her. Eeee! Maybe a tiny top hat too! Gekkani thought.
“I think Emiko-chan was onto something, ” Gekkani said to Shizuko, “ But feel free to stop by anytime okay? I’m there open to close! We’ll see how you do cashiering.” While the statues had her feeling very defensive, this shy photographer did not make her feel any more uneasy. Figuring this deal could be lucrative – maybe she’d even get a day off more often! “Take care, Miss Emiko! She said cheerfully, her ‘Miss’ spoken in perfect, although slightly twangy English.
She turned, passively waving behind her to Emiko, “Au revoir, Kaede-chan! I hope to see you soon too!” With that, she bobbed off towards her modest mid-town apartment. Looking like a snowflake against the sunset as she marched into the horizon. Oddly, as the feelings of angst and violence left her, Gekkani found herself skipping home.

Post by Hayashi Kaede on Feb 26, 2010 19:00:23 GMT -5
Kaede fixed Sakura with a blank stare that held just a hint of contempt beneath it. She didn't outright glare, that seemed...almost juvenile. You didn't go around giving the evil eye to someone you just met. Than again, you don't want to beat them to death, either, Kaede thought, surprising herself. Honestly, where had it come from?
She waited at the Jupiter statue, feeling her throbbing head-ache slowly fade away as her antagonist left the picture. She breathed a loud sigh of relief, slowly standing up and looking up at the giant's face. She had to admit, much as she didn't like this place, much as she considered Jupiter as much a loser as the others...she had to admit, it sounded like she was the strongest. "I hope you at least tried the hardest, too," she mumbled, still with that faint glare on her face. She moved towards Kani and Emiko, waving goodbye to her as she left, arriving just in time for Kani to leave as well. Her eyes went a little bit wider at what she'd just been called. "Kaede-chan?" So soon...
Finally it was just herself and the photographer. Kaede looked at her for a few moments, then lifted a hand to her temple. "It...seems my head-ache's a bit better," she said quietly, looking away again. "But I must still be going...I'll come by later for the pictures." With those words, she too left, wondering where she would go now...This trip to the Memorial, she realized a few moments later, had really paid off. She'd met some interesting people at least, and...I think I made a friend.

"It was very nice to meet you Shurajou-san. I'll be at your store in the next couple of days!" Shizuko smiled, taking the lens from her camera and storing it in her bag as everyone drifted away from the memorial statues.
Not a fan of the statues? Shizuko thought, slightly puzzled. She'd never heard anyone say that, although it wasn't uncommon for people to feel a little awkward or awed, but she brushed the thought away and began to head towards home. I'll have to ring Mama and tell her about my new job!
