Somehow, Shinkirou was in China Town. It probably had something to do with his mom mentioning she wanted a specific tea. And the tea was still nowhere to be found. The young man had a feeling she'd done this on purpose, just to get him out of the house. "Gah, this bites..." he mumbled, rubbing the back of his head and sighing. As he traversed the shops, hoping to find that tea, he glanced up, seeing a flash from farther in the city.
Was that lightning...?
Probably some tokusatsu show. he brushed it off, not too concerned about it. He passed a building with several sets of TVs, each on a news station about some sort of break-in at the Royal Palace. Bah, who gave a crap about that anyways? Royals were royals. Rolling his eyes, he headed into a restaurant, in the mood for something to eat. However, not being too knowledgeable with Chinese food, he ended up ordering the spiciest food off the menu.
Oh goddamnit.
Sighing, the young man settled into a table outside, gazing upwards at where he'd seen the mysterious flash of whatever it was. A part of him was intensely curious, but--
--"Maybe I'll just watch for now." he muttered.

Kaede hadn't exactly planned to go to China Town today...She hadn't planned to do anything, really. Just hope that something different would happen to shake things up. If she were back in her old town, then her friends would have provided the excitement and change of pace for her. But no, she was alone.
Yet despite her not planning anything, her feet just seemed to carry her into China Town. She passed by a few people discussing the news, something concerning the palace, and she suddenly paused. This could be interesting...
After a few minutes, Kaede grew bored again. They people weren't talking about what HAPPENED at the palace, just how they felt. What was she supposed to learn from that? How was THAT exciting?
As she approached a restaurant, lightning flashed in the distance, making her freeze, and she stared at the spot for a moment. That was different. Was there even supposed to be lightning today? She stopped beside the building, watching and waiting to see if it would come closer, or happen again. To the young man she saw nearby (she reminded herself that she was trying to be friendlier now), she quietly said, "Do you remember anything saying we'd get a storm?" Her eyes widened a tiny fraction as she added, "I hope we do get one..."

Well, crap. Now it was raining too. (Or had it always been raining?) Shinkirou was belatedly glad he'd picked a spot with some roof over him--kept him from getting wet, at any rate. As he watched the people move towards drier places, he saw another flash in the sky, and the unmistakable rumbling of thunder.
"I think you got your wish." he told Kaede with a grin, motioning for her to sit down--she seemed interesting, despite her monotone, and he figured he might as well do his good deed and keep her from getting drenched. "'s kinda weird though, huh? Forecast only mentioned a chance of rain--either someone's losin' their job or there's something weird going on." he commented lazily, taking a bite of some chicken and resisting the urge to gag--agh, it really was too spicy for him. Against his better judgement, he swallowed and then took a swig of soda.
"It's interesting, at any rate."

Kaede nodded, easing into the seat opposite the young man. "Interesting..." she repeated, a faint glimmer of amusement in her eyes as she took it all in. It'd been just fine a while ago--a chance of rain, yes, but it was going as expected. And now there was rain, lightning and--thunder? Ohhhhhh yes. "Well," she said, propping her elbows on the table and watching the sky for more lightning. "You're right about that. It is interesting." Almost as if the gods or spirits or whatever there were had read her mind and granted her wish.
Absently twirling her ring around her finger, Kaede looked back to her new companion for a moment. Be friendly... she told herself. It's what you've been trying to do for a while now... "My name is Hayashi Kaede," she deadpanned, barely inclining her head. "Thank you for letting me sit. It's a nice place to watch the storm..." She turned her attention back to where the lightning had struck.

"Inbino Shinkirou." Shinkirou returned with a cheerful grin, watching his new companion as she watched the storm going on. She was kind of a cold fish, but eh. The girl was cute enough, he supposed, and she didn't seem too bad. Absently, he ate more of his food, ignoring how spicy it was, briefly looking up as he thought he saw another flash, then frowned as it was nothing. "Man, the media must be having a field day. First the Royals get broken into or whatever and now crazy weather up the yin-yang." he commented, ignoring the dirty looks he was getting for being so casual about it.
"What do you think 'bout all this, Hayashi-san?" he asked, wanting to get her to talk or something. He wasn't the kind to sit in silence--if she was going to sit with him, she sure as hell was gonna contribute to conversation. 'course, she's probably just enjoying the storm... he thought, going back to eating.

Kaede blinked as the young man--no, Inbino-san, spoke again. "That's right, the palace was broken into," she said, glancing back at him. "But...I haven't heard of what exactly happened, what was in danger...Passed some people talking about it, but they didn't say anything much." She sighed, still playing wit her ring as she glanced up again, just in time to see another flash. Now all they needed was heavy wind, and it'd have been perfect.
"And as for what I think of it," she began again, looking back to Inbino-san, "I said before--It's interesting. A break-in at the Palace, a storm so soon after...Life's throwing things at us." She frowned, ever so slightly, as she considered what shed just said. "I do wonder though...why it was broken into. And if anything special is causing this storm, I wonder why. Though I think I'd like to find out, just so I can say a nice 'Thank you' for it. Your thoughts?" she added, almost smiling. Almost.
But it's probably nothing, she realized then, disappointed. If something was truly wrong, there'd be people trying to fix it. And since no one's here... "And are you going to finish that?" She changed the subject for a moment, pointing to the chicken.

"Eh, the news ain't saying much from what I know. Mystery cloaked in mystery or some bullcrap like that." Shinkirou said in response to the break-in, disinterested about the whole ordeal. "Basically just a way for the government to pretend nothing's going down. 'course, they never seem to realize it just puts people more on edge." he shook his head and sighed, taking another gulp of soda.
"As for whatever's causing the storm--" he stopped at hearing several rumbles of thunder and more flashes lit up the sky. "--okay, that officially goes into 'completely and utterly unnatural' category." he said, noting the people around him beginning to whisper and speculate about it. "Seems like whatever it is is having a fun time." he said with a grin, struck by the urge to get closer. No, he couldn't investigate yet. Not until he knew what was going on.
At the girl's question as to whether he was going to finish his food, he blinked. "Ah, this?" he commented, pushing the tray towards the girl "Have as much as you want."

Himeko sighed as she looked for shelter from the rain storm. She had decided to come to china town, in order to find her Halloween costumes for herself and Kiyoshi. Honestly, her big party was soon and the older boy hadn't gotten anything yet. She had bee in so many stores today, and all she had to show for it was a pair of fox ears. Whatever had compelled the blond to buy the ears, was beyond her. They seemed to scream Kiyoshi.
Himeko had been planing on visiting her favorite dress maker, to see how her own princess costume was going. But as the rain seemed to fall harder and harder, she knew that was out of the question.
"I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO KIYOSHI-NII!!!" Himeko exclaimed as she ran from awning to awing in order to dodge the rain. She had wondered why the older boy had suggested this morning to bring an umbrella with her. However, she had chosen to ignore him.
Suddenly, Himeko noticed a bunch of people running into a restaurant. Well, I haven't had lunch yet. Himeko though as she followed the crowd inside. The restaurant, was quite packed, no doubt do to the sudden storm. However, Himeko didn't care she was happy to finally be out of the rain. Once inside, Himeko noticed that there wasn't anywhere to sit. However she noticed a few of the tables outside had a roof over them. Making her way back outside, she noticed all of the tables were filled. Except of one whose only occupants were a brown haired man and blue haired women.
"Do you mind if I sit down? Everywhere, else is full." Himeko once she approached the table.

Unnatural, hm? Kaede thought, watching the sky again. At least it's not a regular storm then. "Well, then..." she suddenly realized, helping herself to some chicken. Ooh, spicy. Not bad. "If it's not a normal storm, like you apparently think it is, and I hope it is, then shouldn't someone come to make it go away?" Not that she wanted it to stop, but it was a logical assumption. And hey, maybe whoever would try to stop it would be unable to. And that would be pretty fun to watch...
It was at that point that a new girl arrived at their table, asking to sit down. Kaede blinked, but nodded and scooted her chair over. "It's alright with me," she said in her usual monotone. Gesturing to another chair, she added "And how are you enjoying the day? This is pretty entertaining, isn't it?" A very small smile on her lips, she looked back at the sky in time to see more lightning. Strange, it didn't seem to be coming closer or moving away...Just seemed to stay in one area.

Shinkirou chuckled, brushing a stray lock of his dark red hair our of his face. "You honestly think someone's gonna try?" he asked, his good-natured tone slightly disbelieving. "Government gives more of a crap about their oh-so-delicate Royals getting broken into right now." he scoffed. "I mean, look at the newscasts--" he jerked a thumb behind him, where another TV was broadcasting news about the break-in. "--no one cares."
He blinked when a blonde showed up. "Ah, sure!" he said with a polite smile, gesturing for her to take a seat. Inwardly, he was rather interested at this turn of events--maybe he could get his flirt on--but another flash of lightning caught his attention.
Hmmm. Wonder what's happening over there~?

"Thanks," Himeko replied as she sat down next to the blue haired girl. "I was afraid I would have to go out into the that storm again."
Once she finished settling down, the girl took the chance to study the tables other occupants. They looked around her age, especially the girl. I wonder if I ever seen her around school before. just then she was brough back to reality by the girls question.
"Well to tell you the truth, this is the worse day ever. My brand new dress is ruined." Himeko moaned, her mother had purchased the one-of-a-kind dress she was wearing overseas. The girl reached into her bag and pulled out a compact, only to she that her carefully applied makeup was ruined. "And I look horrible too. I should had never gone costume shopping today."
She was really regretting now, she hadn't brought along that umbrella.

"Costume...? Oh, yes," Kaede said, blinking as she suddenly remembered. "It's nearly Halloween, isn't it?" She'd nearly forgotten about it; she hadn't any plans for it, and she didn't think her parents were doing anything. A party, handing things to children, going out...they probably forgot too. Halloween... A thought suddenly came to her she checked for more lightning. Maybe this storm was just some sort of pre-Halloween joke? Or an early celebration?
The blonde suddenly complained about her appearance, causing Kaede to look her over. Well...yes, the make-up was ruined, but she certainly could have looked worse in Kaede's opinion. "Hmm...I think it would have been wiser to use waterproof make-up on a day like this," she deadpanned, shooting another quick look at the sky. "But then, we weren't expecting this much rain...Still, it's something for you to think about. My name is Hayashi Kaede, by the way," she introduced herself with a nod.
More lightning flashed, and Kaede frowned a little. So much lightning, one bolt after another..."I don't suppose anyone wants to get closer?" she ventured, looked around the little group.

"Have you honestly forgotten about it?" Himeko questioned, slightly curious at the blue haired girl's behavior. She stared at the girl in front of her, a look of amazement on her face. I thought everyone kenw about my party. I practically announced it to the whole school back in September. Maybe she isn't a student there after all. She thought to herself.
"I just love Halloween. In fact, I'm throwing a huge costume party at my house. Everyone at school is going to be there. Though Otou-sama, wasn't to keen at the idea. He going to be out of the country then, you see?" Himeko explained to the girl, not realizing that the tables occupant's would understand what she was talking about. "So I had to beg for days, until he finally cracked under the pressure. He seriously afraid I'll burn down the mansion or something." She smiled, once she completed her story.
"As for the advice about the makeup, I really should have worn something waterproof. " She replied to girl's comment. Before taking a glance at the outside weather, only to become disappointed. The storm seemed to be getting worse. Himeko sighed, before pulling out her makeup bag from her purse. She was determined to fix up her makeup somehow."I've never been a fan of the rain. I always prefer the hot summer weather."
"Look at me, I've been rambling away and I haven't properly introduced myself." Himeko exclaimed, her face turning slightly red. "I'm Hisakino Himeko. It's a pleasure to meet you, Hayashi-san." She then turned to the boy, who had remained mostly quiet durning her own ramblings. "And you are?" She inquired.

"I don't think you look very horrible at all, miss." Shinkirou said with a smile as the blonde mentioned her makeup being ruined. He listened absently as Hayashi and the blonde talked about costumes and Halloween. Ah, right, that's coming up. Kai 'n Sai were talking about going out for candy. Takeru mentioned something about a party-- he thought, blinking when the blonde girl started talking about the party she was hosting. Well, fancy that.
"Sounds like it'll be interesting. Don't suppose I'm allowed to come, am I? I'm not exactly in high school anymore..." he commented with a chuckle, watching as the blonde girl blushed at not introducing herself. She was cute when she blushed, he gave her that. At her question as to he was, he offered a light smile. "The name's Inbino Shinkirou. It's nice to meet you, Hisakino-san."
He glanced back at Kaede. "And as for your question, Hayashi-san..." he said, proving he hadn't simply ignored her, "...well, it seems like it's getting a little dangerous now, don't you think? I'd certainly like to not be turned into a human lightning rod."

Set the mansion on fire...? Kaede thought to herself, one eyebrow raising. What made the girl's father think she'd set the place on fire? She watched in amusement as the blonde tried to fix her make-up. With the storm still raging. "Um, good luck with that...May want to wait until you're inside or something. I think the wind and rain would make it worse than before," she advised, though it was spoken as if she were talking to herself.
She turned back to look at Shinkirou when he hinted he'd like to come. "You're not a high-school student?" she repeated, with some surprise. She was so certain...Ah, well, she was terrible at guessing things like that anyway. She sighed, however, when he suggested against going closer under the possibility of death. "I suppose..." she mumbled, resting her chin in her hands. "Those 'storm chasers' are pretty lucky."
She looked back to Himeko, suddenly thinking of something. "Hisakino-san," she began. "What if the weather is like this for your party, too? I hope you have a back-up plan."
