Since the day at the Memorial, Kaede had been seriously thinking of going to Shibuya. Normally she hung around her own neighborhood, so it was really her own fault she was bored, wasn't it? Either way, Kaede found herself walking down a street in Shibuya, looking around in slight awe at the shops.
So many different places... she thought, immediately regretting she didn't bring her wallet with her. She could've gone inside and found some nice gadget to toy around with--maybe a new CD, or a game. She played games on occasion, though she kept quiet about it. And come to think of it, wasn't Kani's jewelry shop in Shibuya, or did Kaede remember wrong? She'd have to look for it while she was here, see if there was something pretty that was within her price range.
A slight pain became noticeable just then, in her temples, making the blue-haired girl frown and rub the sides of her head. Ow... Damn, it couldn't wait just a few days, could it? As she rubbed her temples more, trying to ease the pain out or something, a glint caught her eye. "Eh?" Kaede drew closer, nearer to one of the buildings and spotted the source of the glinting at the base of the building, half-hidden by someone's soda can. "A pen?" she muttered, taking the dark green object in her hand. She straightened, rubbing it with her sleeve to clean it off, though it looked plenty clean already. Why would someone throw a pen out...Sure its not a good-looking thing, or even that interesting, but pens are...useful, I suppose. Kaede turned the thing over in her hands, trying to ignore how her headache seemed to get a bit worse.
Since it was dark green, nearly black...Kaede wondered if it was one of the kinds with colored ink. She held it up to the sun, squinting at it. Why she was getting so worked up over a pen she had no idea. "I must be more bored than I thought, today..." she muttered, feeling pathetic.

Bzzt!
It wasn't really sure when it had come into being exactly, but it was fairly sure that this was a circumstance that couldn't be boring. In fact, this was a very interesting one. Existence was, after all, a rather terribly new sort of experience, and new was generally good.
Some significant distance away, out of sight and sound of its mistress as she came across a certain object of the utmost importance, a dark pink blender fell from the sky like some sort of utterly unorthodox meteor. It crashed into the ground next to a storefront, probably having fallen out a a window somehow, certainly, and bounced in the concrete.
And that, strangely enough, wasn't even when things started to get weird.
No, that part was reserved for when the blender disappeared between one moment and the next.

Hmmm...Wonder if it's got any ink? Kaede thought. She didn't see any dried-up ink crusted over the pen-tip, like most of her own pens had...Perhaps the owner had cleaned it regularly or something? Kaede put the tip of the pen to the back of her hand, seeing if she could write on her hand. Nothing came out. She pressed harder and still nothing. Except for a faint white line across the back of her hand, there was nothing.
Another jolt of pain came, and Kaede nearly dropped the pen. Ouch! She hadn't been expecting something like that! The girl hissed between her clenched teeth, fingertips to her temple. She was sooo tempted right now to take out some of those pain-reliefs, but...Weakness, Kaede, she told herself, opening her slightly-teared up eyes. No weakness allowed. No surrender.
She had to take her mind off this pain, right now. Her eyes flickered back to that pen. Well, this would be as good as anything for now...Turning to the building behind her, she gave it the wall a few hard strokes with the pen, eyes narrowed. Whoever found the marks could wash them off later...if there were any, that was.

Oh, but what a wonderful world this was!
It was bright and colorful and shiny and bright!
And shiny!
And interestingly enough, people in Shibuya were so wrapped up in their own little worlds that a stealthy enough blender went either completely unnoticed or simply unremarked upon by some chance. At least, until it'd stolen a box of chocolates and dashed down the street, tiny little clawed tube-feet clacking on the pavement. So what if the squishy things were all a twitter about it, really.
It had a mission! And a box of chocolates!
And shiny!
It's mistress was close, so close. Unaware of anything else, it darted down an alleyway and skittered closer, ever closer, wrapped box of chocolates in hand.
It paused, considering, and promptly dropped them all inside itself.
Continuing on its way, it left behind an empty box imprinted with the colorful words Doki Doki Darling.

Bao-Yu had just come out of the Shibuya 109 store, a few bags in tow, before heading back out into the streets. Naturally it was a busy day, it always was. She had picked up some accessories to go with a few of her recent outfits she wore to school. A girl had to accessorize properly when it came to appearances, and she was no exception. It was customary to wear her money respectfully yet, tastefully.
Making her way down the sidewalk, she by-passed quite a few shops before she noticed, down a small gap between buildings, a girl having a field day with the wall. Normally Bao-Yu would dismiss this as a particular case of the ‘crazies’ since, let’s face it; Shibuya was notorious for attracting weird kids. But this was very different. A flicker of light gleamed in the girl’s hand and it immediately attracted her attention like a raccoon finding something shiny!
She was cautious while stepping up to the girl. In all honesty she was more enamored with what was in the brunette’s hand. Something tingled in the back of her mind seeing the shape and style of the little stick.
That couldn’t be… she thought with a devious internal smirk.
Clearing her throat, she decided to speak up, “Um, pardon me. I didn’t mean to pry but…may I ask what the wall did to warrant your displeasure of it?” There was a slight giggle in attempting to show that she was simply teasing the girl a little, but she wore an honest smile in hopes of garnering the girl’s trust for the time being.

Damn....Nothing! Kaede frowned, scratching harder. This was one stubborn pen...Couldn't have been thrown out because it was out of ink, it looked too nice for that. Wasn't beaten up, wasn't chewed, looked fairly expensive...Well, if it has no ink, I can at least kep it. Start a collection of sorts to keep my mind busy, I suppose--
“Um, pardon me. I didn’t mean to pry but…may I ask what the wall did to warrant your displeasure of it?”
"Huh?" Kaede turned her head, wincing again a little as even that movement caused some more pounding, and stared at the newcomer. Oops. She'd just been caught trying to deface a building...fabulous. "Oh...I..." she began, feeling incredibly silly because of what she was about to say. "I found this pen and I wanted to...see if it had any ink in it, still." Feeling somewhat embarrassed--It was only a pen, why was she so worked up?!--Kaede held the thin object out, in her flat, open hand. "Looks expensive, too...I guess," she mumbled in the same monotone she always had.
Shrugging her shoulders, Kaede curled her fingers around the pen and pulled it away again, trying her hardest not to blush. That was highly unlike her, as was trying to write on a building's exterior. Or interior, for that matter. "Listen, it's stupid, don't waste your time with me and it, okay?" she mumbled, hoping to forget this eventually.

She didn’t have long to eye the item, but there was no mistaking what it was. The only real difference between this one and hers was the color banding was different. This one appeared to be dark green whilst hers was lavender. It was true; she was not the only one out there with these particular gifts. However, would this girl be friend or foe to her if Bao-Yu were to reveal the truth? It was probably best to keep her cards close to her chest, for now. It was time to play a game.
“Actually…” she started up, placing a knuckle to her chin as she stared at the vanishing pen that was tucked swiftly away, “I recognize those pens. My father’s company crafts them, yours looks like the KT-23 model. Yours is simply out of ink. But if you use them correctly they have another purpose to them as well.” This was all lies, of course, but she had to find a way to link herself to this girl in the event she
Digging into her purse, she pulled out a lavender business card that had her name and contact information decorated on it. Handing it over to Kaede she gave a cheerful smile, “These particular pens have very special cartridges to them. I’ll just get you one for free so that you can at least try it out with the ink.” It was then the girl gave a confident smile, “And if you call me to place the order, I’ll throw in an incentive bonus and tell you what the special part does.”

"Another purpose?" Kaede looked back down at the pen, bringing it out again. What other purposes did a pen have aside from writing? Maybe it just changes colors or something, she thought dully. As Bao-Yu pulled out a business card--lavender...Kaede'd never seen that color on a business card before--Kaede accepted it, staring at the text. This was the second--or was it third?--business card she'd accepted recently. Must be a sign.
“These particular pens have very special cartridges to them. I’ll just get you one for free so that you can at least try it out with the ink.” The other girl smiled. “And if you call me to place the order, I’ll throw in an incentive bonus and tell you what the special part does.”
Wait a minute..."Why can't you tell me now?" Kaede replied, face blank. She'd had to deal with enough pushy salespeople as a kid to know that they would do just about anything to sell you their product...And that sometimes, the special attachments weren't really all that great to begin with. "Why don't you tell me what the special part does right now, and I can decided for myself if it's truly special or not?" Then she would place an order...maybe.

Bao-Yu couldn’t help but smirk in response to the girl’s questions…or, more likely, slight demands.
“That’s not part of the deal I’ve presented you,” she said frankly and offered the business card one more time, “You can look all over the world for the ink cartridge if you’d like. You won’t find a replacement or even a proxy. The information stays with me unless circumstances otherwise change.”
It was true; "the pen" was not that kind of pen. Even if Kaede presented it to a myriad of shops the chances of the store keepers being able to remotely help her was next to none unless there was another person exactly like the both of them working as a secret pen sales clerk. Bao-Yu’s chances were decent even if the girl was perceptively skeptical.
She’s not an idiot, which bodes well if we’ll ever be working on the same side… she thought in a whimsical manner. Indeed, if the girl was what she suspected her to be, things were about to get a whole lot more interesting.
“You don’t have to answer me now if you don’t want to. I understand you’d prefer to dissect my words to see if they’re remotely truthful. When you don’t find the cartridge just call me afterwards.”
Was she being cocky at this point? Perhaps, but the ruse was designed to obtain more information about the girl one way or the other. Whatever she could glean was considered a win.

Alright, if this girl was indeed a saleswoman, she was a special kind. The kind that really pushed you to buy something to get that "special thing." Kaede set her jaw, this time reaching to and taking the business card between two fingers. "Circumstances change?" What's that supposed to mean?
Kaede suddenly wanted to kick herself, Honestly, this situation shouldn't even be happening--it was just a stupid pen, for crying out loud! Why was she, and this person, so worked up over it? If Kaede had just kept on walking this would never have happened. Or maybe thrown the pen away--yeah, Kaede could still do that. Throw it out--It was clear she wasn't getting much more information out of this girl, and she wasn't going to order an expensive, special pen to find out a secret that might not even be spectacular.
“You don’t have to answer me now if you don’t want to. I understand you’d prefer to dissect my words to see if they’re remotely truthful. When you don’t find the cartridge just call me afterwards.”
"I still don't see why you can't tell me right now, if you're so sure I won't find the cartridge," Kaede said, trying to keep her tone neutral, but it came out in a slight hiss as the pain in her head suddenly double. Her fingertips pressed harder against her temples as she tried to act like nothing was happening. It was getting harder and harder to do that, however. "It's just a silly pen," she grumbled to herself, looking down and holding it out again. The thing sat in her open palm--Kaede almost thought it was mocking her.

When it had gotten on a ledge some two or three stories up, the Smooth Shocker did not particularly care. Climbing walls was fun, and profitable, too!
Maybe not profitable, but it gave the abnormal appliance a great perch in which to observe its mistress.
She was... beautiful.
His lady was quite possibly the most lovely being in this strange, loud world. She was everything perfect, and yet it realized something was amiss. His mistress should have crackled with power, but didn't. In one delicate hand, she held the object of her--ooh, it was pretty. It wondered if she would let it play with--
Wait, no! Now was not the time for the pretty object!
She needed help, she clearly needed its help to unleash her great shiny!
"SMOOTH SHOCKER!" it buzzed as it transformed into its full form, and promptly leapt over the edge. Its descent, while impressive, probably would have been even better if it hadn't winged a particularly startled pigeon on its way down. The pigeon was alright, probably, not that the manic machine minded either way. The crash landing was perhaps less than threatening beyond the whole three foot tall anthropomorphic blender phenomenon, even it its lid did once pop off as it got to its crazy little feet.
Technical difficulties there, it paused as it grabbed some of the chocolates that had spilled out, watching its lady with adoring and expectant googly eyes as it shoved its lid back on.
It would help.
And the blending began.

The girl was being awfully stubborn and now Bao-Yu was growing a little impatient with her despite the fact that she didn’t outwardly show it. Things were about to take a turn in the direction of the ‘sudden circumstances’ that was mentioned earlier. It plummeted from the sky like a metal beacon of a weird home appliance sale of sorts.
With a loud crunch to the concrete, innocent bystanders screamed and began scattering in all directions at the strange…blender? Bao-Yu quirked an eyebrow as she eyeballed the monster and wondered where it had suddenly come from. After a few more moments of study, she noticed it was taking particular interest in the girl with the pen.
“Crap…you probably shouldn’t be flashing that thing around,” she scolded the girl now as she took a look behind her and found an alleyway with a few blockades to hide behind. It would have to do for now. “It looks like it’s fond of you most, so get running. I’ll try to hedge it from a different angle. Go!”
There was no way she was going to wait for Kaede to protest. Instead she grabbed her by the arm, and took the liberty to stuff the pen in the stubborn girl’s pocket before shoving her in the opposite direction. Her feet then shifted into a defensive stance as she extended her left hand outward while hoisting her right up close to her face with two fingers pointing at her opponent.
It was going to be a ruse for now. If Kaede wasn’t paying attention and Bao-Yu could feign a weak battle, it’d buy her the right amount of time to give the girl a head start and then transform to meet up with her later.

Of all the things Kaede could have expected to happen, a blender falling from nowhere wasn't one of them. Especially not an anthropomorphic blender. "What the--?!" She blinked in shock, completely taken by surprise.
“Crap…you probably shouldn’t be flashing that thing around.” What, the pen? “It looks like it’s fond of you most, so get running. I’ll try to hedge it from a different angle. Go!” Kaede found the pen being forced from her hand and to her pocket, and shoved in another direction. She stumbled a few steps, looking back for a moment before shaking her head and running for it. A living blender was definitely exciting, but if it was dangerous...
Kaede didn't run very fast, going just a little bit faster than an average jog. It wouldn't be good to get exhausted so quickly, and every hard step on the pavement made her head pound. She dodged other panicking people, watching as some of them ran right past her, before turning around. She was a few buildings away now...Not far enough to really be safe, though, but she couldn't help stop. Something seemed to just make her.
And why was that thing looking at me like that? I'm not made for blending, and I'm sure I don't taste good! she thought, frowning a bit. Shoving her hand into her pocket, she felt the pen and wondered about that as well...Why would flashing a pen around make something like that show up? She barely even noticed that touching the thing made her head less pained.
...I hope that other girl's alright, she thought, biting her lower lip a little. She didn't see anything that indicated whether she'd been hurt or not.

There was a certain disappointment to the Shocker's whiiiirrrr as the pretty lovely mistress lady started to run away. That wasn't very nice, he'd just wanted her to use her shiny power so she could be happy. It reached out with one long, tubular arm, longingly, and its wide googly eyes looked almost sad for a moment.
Which was pretty impressive, how well it could emote, when its eyes couldn't actually change shape or anything of that nature. It's button-teeth did start to press in, however, changing the speed of the blades in order to maximize the chocolate-y blending.
Nothing would keep it away from its mistress!
It reached up as it looked to the girl standing between it and its still slumbering lady, pulling off it's lid with a hum of, "OM NOM NOM!"
And suddenly, chocolate smoothie flew everywhere as it sparked and crackled with electricity.

Bao-Yu watched as the girl made a steady turtle’s pace at running away. That was never a good sign in the long run. But she had to first buy a little bit of time. The blender seemed almost pained to watch its target flee. To be perfectly honest, she almost felt sorry for the thing the way it had emoted its personal distress. Soon, however, that changed as it focused on her for being an obstacle in its path.
“Uh-oh…” a blast of chocolate smoothie and crackling energy exploded in all directions and Bao-Yu ducked down hard to the ground in order to dodge it. The chocolately sludge flew over her head and hit the surrounding areas. When the coast seemed clear, she looked back over her shoulder to see that Kaede had long made good progress.
Good, now I can get on with my own task… she thought, slowly standing back up with a fake look of shock painted on her face. Bao-Yu stared incredulously at the creature, her knees suddenly buckled and her body trembling. Suddenly a few tears welled up in her eyes before the grand finale…
“Ahhhhhh!!!!” she screamed as she ran off toward the alley way out of sight. This would leave the blender free to do as it pleased. She made sure she was tucked well out of sight and around a large garbage bin before commencing her next plan of attack. A thumb wiped away the false tears of fear of soon a vindictive smirk quirked upon her lips as she pulled a black and lavender pen latched to a chain from under her blouse and held up high in the air.
“Arawn Planet Power…Make-UP!”
The words activated a flash of power to radiate from the item and soon the world dissolved around her as she was enveloped in unexplainable warmth. Clothes had faded away as the pen disintegrated into a ball of purple energy which she threw down to the floor. It opened up a dark abyss, her toes just hovering over it, as shadowed spirits flew out of the portal and began incasing her in darkness.
Covered from head to toe, her arms flung outward and the miasma of black melded into a Grim Reaper type cloak with demonic bat wings protruding from the back. Her left hand reached out to grab the claw-like scythe that a god of death was well known for. Carefully she hovered the butt of the weapon over the portal and then smashed it down quickly to seal off the power.
Gobs of black blasted away from her body as the entire raiment of death exploded to reveal the new change in her appearance. Her hair was now a gradient of black, maroon and lavender. The outfit was reminiscent of the typical senshi fuku, but clad in black instead of the usual white.
Arawn took this time to lift a gloved hand gingerly before her eyes. Even though she had done this many times already, it still gave her extreme pleasure in seeing the possibilities of her new persona. But this indulgence lasted merely a second before it was time to focus on the problem at hand.
“Now it’s time to play for real…” she murmured happily before nimbly disappearing further into the ally to intercept her prey.
